Each WoW class has energy to spend. Some of it goes up, some of it goes down, and some of it wiggles up and down constantly.
The Wigglers :
Rogues energy style, The bar goes up naturally and when you press button it goes down.
Same thing for Hunter Focus.
The Generator (Up):
Warrior Rage, Demon hunter Fury, The bar goes up when you press certain buttons and down to spend it. Also Boomies Astral Power.
But also includes Combo Points and Holy Charges.
The Spender (Down):
Mana. Cast as much as you want, until you run out.
What is your favorite Energy style?
I’m noticing when I play alts, the ones I play the least are those who have the Builder energy type. I find it clunky to build up and down.
My Favorite are the Rogue/Hunter, I like self-managed Energy that I don’t have to worry about.
For the longest time, I thought I only liked the wiggle (I was Rogue for the longest.)
Now that I have finally come to terms with the fact that Warlock is indeed my favorite class, and that I just legitimately suck at Shadow Priest
, guess I’m a downer all the way.

For Warlock I was surprised that the Soul Shards generation between Demo and Destro was so different. I much prefer the Generation of Demo, where you get 1 full soul shard instead of Fragments.

It smooth out for me once I got adjusted to it- I don’t even really notice now; but Demo is also my favorite of the three (don’t tell Destro or Aff.)

Don’t tell nobody. I don’t know, but don’t snitch.
It helps to have practice. As an altoholic I try to experience all classes, but I’m really bad with the Generator ones like Build/Spend.
On Warrior, my Rage bar is often full and I forget to spend the rage while I spam more builders. Same for demon hunter and boomkin.
And don’t get me started on the Boomkin Solar/Lunar cycles… still getting the hang of it.

Paladin seems to be a mix of the two. Prot is definitely an “Up” style that I’ve learned to live with. You’ve got builders, you’ve got spenders, and you work out your rotation around them. But Holy seems to be more of a “Wiggle”, since you’re constantly generating Holy Power when you cast your main heal spell, so you can dash off Word of Glory frequently just as a natural consequence of what you’re supposed to be doing anyway.

I got all classes maxed. But came a time when the tank was outdamaging me… and I had to take a hard pause and reflect.
AoE is my weakness- I don’t enjoy doing it, which is a major problem in M+.
That became the true litmus test: which AoE gameplay loop doesn’t make me want to cast self-Immolate and Implode.
Warlock. Of all the AoE rotations, this one I actually enjoy. Not just because it’s actually easy; I enjoy the esthetic as well.
The combo of ease of use, and literally raining the Legion down on the heads of my enemies, is actually a cathartic experience.
Might ve my addled brain slowing down on me.
