Enemy nameplates always showing with always show nameplates not checked

As title says. I want to have nameplates only on in combat and do not have always show nameplates checked, but the nameplates are constantly on anyways. Toggling enemy nameplates with v does nothing to fix this. The always show nameplates check does nothing when toggled.

I’m having the same issue. In addition, all mobs are being highlighted like they’re quest mobs, which is likely part of the bug.

This…I’m constantly seeing yellow under non-hostile mobs and their nameplates as if they’re for a quest.

I’m having this same issue. Every mob has the quest ring under it.

Also having this issue. No Add Ons enabled, still does it. Husband isn’t having the issue, we have the same settings.

Anyone find out anything about this yet? Quite annoying when questing.

It is 100% a bug caused by release of TWW. Same issue since launch.

IDK why this bug was not reported / fixed since alpha and beta testing.

Nameplates being bugged seems hard to miss.

What is even happening in testing anymore?

Little update here, just logged in and found this still happening, but noticed that now in TWW zones I am getting drops for the quest “A Sacred Connection”, which says to “Collect Storm Spirits from creatures of the Dragon Isles”. I’d bet that all the mobs have a chance to drop them, so they are all lit up until the quest is done. I’m at 34/500… so I’ll let you know.

I really appreciate the information here, especially from Gloriousli. Completing that quest has resolved an issue that I’ve been struggling with for the last few days. NPCs, not for a quest no longer have a nameplate for me, after completing that quest.

Just finally got the last of the 500 for the quest, and it did indeed fix the issue. It looks like having the quest active made every killable mob a quest objective.
