I don’t remember having any troubles with rogues around tier 2 gear level on my warrior in vanilla but playing an Orc warrior might have had been part of the reason.
I think it would depend of if we’re allowing the warriors 30min cooldowns.
Man I love this logic. You simultaneously perma kite at max range a warlock in the extremely tight duel area while trapping the succubus while simultaneously never getting within 30 yards of that succubus.
You’re completely oblivious to the fact that Succubus can seduce you from 30 yards, that it has no CD and that the succubus are invisible until they start casting. Seduction’s cooldown was removed 2 months before the game even launched.
The hunters on these forums are in a rude awakening if they think they’ll be the kings of 1v1 PVP. The only time that is true is when you have unlimited kiting range, which will rarely happen.
Warriors are not hitting 2100 with MoM. https://youtu.be/afbJiHgKJEs?t=1444
You’re critting for about 1000, probably less on white damage and have zero rage for anything else.
So you’re depending on a crit to remove his first shield which gets re-applied, and you still have 3k to burn through with the shield trinkets meaning you aren’t getting rage from anything but damage.
You’re not going to outlast the spriest.
6300ish hp is not enough to outlast a bis locks damage output, even if the lock wasn’t critting.
The amount of misinformation about PvP on this forum comes from people who played back in 2004-2006 and only that time period.
If anyone thinks an Spriest should beat a demo lock they are insane. Soul link doesnt even matter. 60 based resistance with felhunter, spell lock their only school, devour magic for themselves, shadow ward, and extra resistance to shadow if they dont have demon armor purged
I’ve seen warriors white crit cloth for 1500+ without buffs in HWL gear, so that’s a cute little clip, but that’s 1 clip and that wasn’t a shadow priest. That was a healer and the discipline and holy trees of priests had talents that drastically increased their armor, and you could stack them.
And you say once you break his first shield he just reapplies it. Weakened soul prevented you from reshielding yourself for 15 seconds (if I remember correctly) after you shield yourself. So that’s incorrect.
And not every priest is going to run the shield trinkets either.
6300 might not be enough to outlast lock damage if you’re letting him free cast, which isn’t happening either.
We’re talking BiS vs BiS. Not bonereavers edge with proc versus priest without inner fire in tier 1/2 mix. So your experiences, while valid, don’t apply here. I know they can crit for 1500 damage. With enrage. On non spriests with inner fire up. It does not apply here.
The clip shows warrior PvP bis versus a non pvp bis holy/disc priest and it doesn’t surge beyond 1k damage. It’ll be less damage versus a BiS shadow priest, and I was intentionally giving you a better than actual situation to show you that if it was really bis vs bis, the warrior would be even worse off. That priest likely doesn’t even have the improved inner fire, as it looks to be a holy pve specced priest due to the lack of blessed recovery.
Only the discipline priest has a hard armor talent buff, which was improved inner fire which only buffs their armor by 400.
You can, and most spriests still do, grab that talent while being shadow specced. holy priest only has an armor buff if he crits a heal.
You’re saying the priest has to give the warrior the charge in the duel, so I’m saying that the priest can preshield, wait 12 seconds, then accept the duel start.
Every priest running BiS gear versus a warrior in BiS gear is going to run the shield trinkets. This is a BiS gear vs BiS gear scenario.
You can’t do anything to interrupt the warlock from freecasting, I don’t know how else to explain it to you.
You can’t stop the initial succubus seduce. Or the followup. Or the one afterwards. There’s nothing a warrior can do in his base kit that will allow him to beat a competent warlock outside of pray for RNG.
aegis is only decent in tier 2, I wouldn’t and haven’t seen anyone actually entertain its usage when damage gets to AQ+ levels outside of hunter matchups.
I would. 41 yard range vs 36, viper ticking on you the whole time while you’re out of range, etc. I don’t think a competent Hunter that gets the drop should ever lose to a Mage in open world sans engineering abuse.
Not attacking you, just doubting your experience in vanilla. There’s not reason for me to attack the argument at this point because you’re going to disagree with anything I say whether it’s correct or not. We can sit here and go back and forth all day.
I’ve played warrior since early 05 and I remember very well thrashing spriests and warlocks. We were their hardest counter, in fact, and it was well known, not just by me.
I remember noticing that most warriors back then did not know they can shout a rogue out of stealth… There were a lot of really bad warriors in PVP back then.
There were a few really good ones too.
If anything the more I think about the skill cap / floor / average it’s the “Average” that’s come up the most over time; mostly because of all the guides, practice and know how they just did not have back then.
Does this make the player actually better? Well… no, it just makes them more knowledgeable and practiced.
When I think of better I am looking at natural skill and natural reaction time and natural ability adapt new strategies.
That’s something that really damn good players have that no matter how much a guy practices will just never have.
That’s that last 10% of the character class skill cap that cannot typically be met with information and discipline… This right here is why the egotistical player in modern WoW gravitates toward bots when they can’t make up that last 10%.
