End the classic/retail separation

Whether it’s the wardrobe, mounts, toys or pets.

As classic advances further into wod and then legion, it’ll give people even more incentive to check out classic realms and try to get appearances that they couldn’t get before because of skill or not being there for the content at that time.

? You can go back in retail and get all the mogs from every expansion

Theres like 0 reasons to play classic unless you wanna do classic content

its a thinly veiled mage tower appearance post

Blizzard isn’t going to bridge the gap between Classic and Retail so that you can have appearances in Retail that you earn in Classic.

I mean they have to at some point. Why would I ever try retail when all of my stuff is on classic, I am not farming all of that stuff again

they will never

they may just redo classic all over again so retail is ahead a few more expacs

Is that note part of the alure? It’s a fresh start for this trying to capture that sense of nostalgia. A foolish errand in my opinion but it’s what a lot of people enjoy.

Ill be honest, if i could play Classic and get Linkens Sword of Mastery for tmog, i would in a heartbeat. I’d grind the hell out of it just to get to Ungoro and do that quest, and stop playing Classic. Again.

Yes this is a good idea

They will. At this point it’s not so much classic as it is re-release. They’ve already set the groundwork with classic anniversary. Soon that’ll become TBC re-rerelease. We will have retail, “classic” (Shadowlands classic etc.), “classic-er classic” (whatever anniversary progresses to) and “classic-est classic” (era).

And suckers will keep subscribed for it, even as they buy the same product over and again. What a bloated mess.

I think classic should not go beyond MoP

Starting completely fresh once is cool sure. But I don’t want to farm tons of transmogs, mounts and achievements twice. I don’t want to try retail when all of my stuff is on classic lol, none of my cool mounts or transmogs there

Was the quest removed? Wowhead doesn’t have any updated info on it.

For a lot of modern expansions (Legion, BFA, SL), it would be interesting to see a classic version with all of their teething problems fixed from the start

No.

They already said they weren’t going to share progress. Doing so years later would be stupid; people would be mad and feel like they could/should have been playing classic so they could have corrupted ashbringer on retail.

I don’t have that kind of faith. If they couldn’t even get LFR working for MoP and insist on adding new things not everyone wants, I can’t see them being capable of doing a simple “problems fixed” version. Especially for those expansions whose problems are inherent to the core design (too little content for WoD, too much RNG and artifact power grind for Legion).

they are two seperate games though.

as an example, i’m sure the mounts you can get in retail would look odd in classic if people were to use it there

demented post

Replacing LFR with celestials is a substantial improvement for MoP.

For Warlords, the main thing they need to do is an accelerated timeline, so it’s almost 1 year instead of almost 2 (~2.5 months of Highmaul, ~3.5 of BRF, ~5 months for HFC).

Legion stuff like having the legendary vendor in from the start, and the 7.3 AK system, as well as major changes to how TF works.

But now that Season of Discovery isn’t hogging the entire classic dev team’s time (like it seemed to be for all of Cataclysm), I have higher hopes for mainline classic updates.

the main thing they should do for wod of draenor classic is go back and add in cut content in to give it longetivity otherwise it will be as dead as turtle wow because you can rest assured they will be nerfing gold farming in wod classic
