End raids need attunements

People who paid for an achievement might not have done it. People don’t have the achievement, haven’t it done it all.

(Sure everyone has alt accs.)

Who said that… I said in the pre-patch.
Region wide progress, the preparation will be done before patch.

If you want rewards, participate, if not, stay out. That is how I think.

that is why I said region wide, server progress doesn’t make sense anymore since we play cross-realm.

But, if it’s the best thing available because public logs aren’t really a thing yet, people will use it.

It quite literally is.

But it’s not infallible. The only thing that’s undeniable is actual raid logs, which is fine. Its outside of Blizzard’s wheelhouse, but completely understandable.

which is why guilds care about logs.

Pugs only care about whatever thy think will get the leader what the leader wants as quickly and easily as possible.

The main flaw in this logic is that neither AQ20 (now 10) nor AQ40 were the last raid of vanilla. That was Naxx. And even then, the scepter quest was not an individual attunement in the same vein as the ones we would later get in TBC. (MC and BWL attunements were more an alternative method to get to the raid without needing to go through a dungeon). It was a server wide attunement that only one person minimum needed to complete.

Gather 'round children and grandpa Kaioon will tell you about the days of high adventure in EverQuest.

We’ll look at Shadows of Luclin today and the Vex Thal attunment (we called them keys back in the day). To assemble your vex thal key you needed 14 shards. Some of them were ground spawns in hard to reach places. Some of them were rare drops from rare spawns in obscure corners of the expanion.

Keying your raid force (of 72 people iirc) to enter the zone was a full time job. When you weren’t raiding, you were grinding keys for new recruits. It ment the guild spent a lot of time together and bonds were formed…

It also consumed your life-force and left you a withered shell of a being. A ruined and terrible form of life. So swings and round abouts.

Don’t get me started on Planes of Power. You needed a spreadsheet to navigate that attument system. It’s like if getting attuned were itself turned into the whole game.

How about no.

Raid attunements were absolutely horrible. A relic of a bygone age that made getting raids started an absolute chore because you’d assemble your team, only Steve brought his alt this time and Steve’s alt doesn’t have the attunement. So now the rest of the raid has to wait while Steve gets his attunement quest done, which normally took a while. Even the most basic of the attunement quests for Classic WoW (the attunement to Molten Core) required you to run a significant chunk of Blackrock Depths to loot the item needed for the quest so you could port in there without needing to run through most of Blackrock Depths to find the raid portal.

We’re far better off without them.
