End of Vashj'ir zone....that's it?!?

So I’m finally getting through old Cata content I’ve never played. So far I’m enjoying playing through Cataclysm story but I just finished all of the Vashj’ir quests and dungeons…it just abruptly ends with a dungeon and nothing else. It almost feels like an anti climax, not a great deal of expanding on what could have been a great ending to the zone.
Did anyone else get this or am I missing some content further on?

There was supposed to be more. Involving Nep and a few other characters.

It was canned.

That bottomless pit looking thing was supposed to be a raid. Cataclysm was rushed to make an arbitrary deadline and a disaster followed, with a lot of stuff going unfinished.

Darn shame! Just felt really weird that it dropped off with nothing extra

Yep that ended up being all there was to it. It’s just one example of Cata’s many failures.

To be fair one of the starting quests drops you off for underwater falling damage that occasionally kills you if you aren’t full health forcing you to redo the quest.

But yeah, It was my favorite Cata zones. I wish we could use Vashj’ir seahorse in nazjatar without flying.

Don’t worry, Neptulon appears again in Legion… how he got free is another question entirely.

I feel your pain.

Such an epic buildup! Naga armies, vrykul and the kidnapping of Neptuleon…

…all for nothing to happen.

As much as I do defend Cata, this is one of those huge flaws with it that cannot be ignored. So much cut content.

If you weren’t around at the time of Cata people RAGED about how much they hated the underwater implementation of Vashj’ir.

It was annoying for sure for melee classes and I felt like eventually I got used to it but wow…people were beyond angry. Rushed plans aside, I think it shocked the devs a bit how much negativity there was.

One thing I found “odd” also about the zone, I could hardly find Volatile Water and lack of fishing. Aside from that, I didn’t mind the zone but it just lacked punch at the end.
Now, in order of how content was released back then, i’m trying to figure out which area to go to next. I’ve done Hyjal and Vashj’ir, where to next to follow the storyline of Cata?

There would be a raid in that zone to further the story on top of rushing the expansion they also couldnt think of a way to make an under water raid actually work and it was scrapped so we never got closure. A real shame. I belive there was a video of some of it though very very unfinished bare bones but I may be mistaken.

It is actually a real shame they didnt hold him off for the eternal palace. They could have kept all of the water elementals fighting the naga in as well fairly easily by just having them trying to free their lord. Have him parting the seas instead of the Tidestone. Bring him in at the 2nd to last boss of EP.

I kinda feel bad for saying this but I’ve never done the mt hyjal quest just because of my hate for the night elves but mostly malfurion and his wife. The people are just too dumb to get rid if bad leaders. Sure malfurion is one of the strongest beings on the planet but you wouldn’t know it with the way he goes about doing things.

Yeah, what we got of Vashj’ir was too much. The place is a god damn mess and beyond appalling to move around in. Good riddance to bad rubbish.
