Worgens don’t have tails though.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa they should
thankfully i’m able to abuse demo lock every season
what would i do if i couldn’t
we’re both thankful for warlocks though; the only time your rating started with a 2 was when splay was unlosable (5 years ago) except splay has remained stupid 90% of the seasons since
bless our boys in purple
that means the last time i played enh / turbo was the season after you got your only gladiator (5 years ago)
i miss her /:
Tails or some cheeks.
I’ll be the arms warrior to your enhance so we can show these loesrs whats up
And by arms warrior I mean boomy
And by boomy I mean starsurge.
And by starsurge I mean LSD4.
league of legends
Ooh, let me try (Note, no one is allowed to quote this out of context)
Deflation is real! Buff MMR! Nerf warriors, they’re OP! >:(
Shuffle is the real bracket, and anyone who Qs 3s is either boosted or a booster!!! I’m only 1550 because of wintraders and broken MMR!!!
? Remi Qs Fairly often and plays Enh + anything with a MS, which is fair!
Okay, that was TWICE.
Eyyo?
The forum hivemind is the complete opposite though
You had me till you said buff dh… I’m out on that
This is the hill I’ll die on. I missed out on all of it but like the last month of season so take with a grain of salt.
SL S2 should be the standard for every single arena season. It should be the bar blizzard reaches for. I came back and there was infinite amounts of groups queing and listed. Never saw the same team twice.
Now all these other glads will come in here and be like
Hear me out. When you have a season that draws in that many players, including a ton of new faces and new glads and its a low hanging fruit everyone can push and grind for and everyone R1 is what? 1,000+ rating/mmr higher? That to me a perfect season. People que, they get rewards and the high level r1s are in their own continent vying for the title they want. No one cares and they don’t impact the rest of population seeking mount/achievement only.
Everyone has their own takes but mine is when its THRIVING and everyones like I WANNA ARENAAA LETS GO BOIS!!! That is a darn successful season
Then you got the other crowd seeing 7,000 unchained glad mounts going
and losing their mind and only want to see front page get mounts only.
Some ppl would rather see the game die then glad be duelist mount that its become during inflated seasons
I don’t speak for all “other glads,” but I will say you’re not wrong when it comes to participation.
At this point, there are really only two options:
- Add Gladiator to Solo Shuffle, effectively letting 3v3 become what 2v2 used to be.
- Hyper-inflate ratings so Gladiator is easily achievable by casual players, but keep it exclusive to 3v3 in order to restore participation that Solo Queue has diminished.
The latter is obviously better for anyone who enjoys 3v3 arenas (like me).
I agree that making the mount a time-sensitive participation reward—similar to Challenge Modes or the Mage Tower—is a good idea. It encourages people to stick around, re-subscribe, and stay active.
However, I don’t think it should remain the penultimate reward at that point.
Mechanically, you run into issues (even in SLS2, as “active” as it was). The gap between 2500 and 3100-3200 MMR had significant bottlenecks:
- A 1000 CR/MMR range is huge.
- Players in LFG often struggle to find partners within 100-200 CR of their own rating, which makes queueing inefficient.
- Queues don’t pop because, for example, there are 3 teams at 2900, 10 teams at 2500, but none at 2700. This obviously doesn’t work (and Blitz/Shuffle faced similar issues).
Adding a 0.5% reward solves these problems in two ways:
- Mechanically: It motivates players to queue beyond 2400, smoothing out rating distribution.
- Philosophically: It recognizes and rewards what I consider the second-most important group in this game: consistent, core audience players. These are the players who don’t unsub between seasons, engage with the community on forums/Twitch, and create the long-term ecosystem.
Most of WoW’s success over the years has come from its organic community, and it would be insane for Blizzard to disregard that. I think that’s part of the emotion many “muh glad” players felt when Blizzard decided to drop the floor on that one.
Just my opinion tho
Both really good options tbh. Why choose one though and just not have both and add it to 2s. Give people the option where they wanna farm it out at. I regonize it does contribute to the split playerbase problem with both options but I don’t see any coming back from that regardless.
This has been brought up since what? BFA now? There needs to be something between glad and r1. Cosmetic wise its asking alot of what seems to be a ghost crew to come up with something, so likely we’ll never see anything, especially at this juncture.
I 100% agree with everything you said though. Wish some of the mountain of money the game generates in revenue went toward that.
On a side note if blizz ever decided to give 3s the 2 treatment and introduce glad to shuffle that would be the patch I would hope we see major spec PVP rebalancing so classes can better options and honor talents to synergize together.
I think I would have agreed with this last year, but after seeing some of the strides the game has made toward player feedback, I don’t think it’s entirely out of the realm of possibility anymore. (Any Kydrav sword enjoyers)
However, realistically, at least in terms of a seasonal FoS, I see literally zero reason to relent.
this is like saying ‘hey look what happened to Kmart’ and then trying to predict the end date of Walmart brick and mortars
my prediction is that the mmo-champ will be pit lording this male horn-locking for years to come
Kmart was extremely popular where I lived as a child, were not all from the sub urbs or rural areas of America.
Anyways, I’m not comparing them game for game because log into Swtor rn (it’s free) and you can Que warzones (BGs) and the pop will be less than 5 minutes usually any time of the day/night.
The game peak for rated was probably ssns 1-4, where the decline started happening and then later in seasons 13/14/15 where it completely took a nose dive and was scrapped entirely because resources could be used elsewhere(cash shop).
It never reached the levels of Wrath-WoD popularity for arena but you could
Probably compare those first few seasons to BFA/SL → they still should
Have the leaderboards on their website if you want true metrics or whatever to compare, but to say it was so unpopular and nobody ever played is again extremely disingenuous
ya its not exactly a Walmart:Kmart, that was just sarcastic humor, but it aided in what I was mostly trying to say: I don’t think rated pvp will be ending for a long time
Swtor as a whole had less players than just the 3v3 ladder on its worst season you’re weird
swtor numbers rivaled wow when it launched, but you’re right what’s the point arguing with a delusional individual who can’t even admit the truth to a bunch of strangers on the internet.
I didn’t enjoy swtor, I wish they just made another KOTOR instead
