Encourage vs Force: PVE to PVP / Rated to Unrated

Seems like the only reasonable benefit I could discern from removing conquest from unrated play entirely, was to encourage rated play.

We just left an expansion where PVE was was being ‘encouraged’ for PVP gearing. How did the PVP community as a whole enjoy that?

Now that rated players have a reasonable PVP only gear avenue, I am seeing the exact same arguments previously used by the PVE players now being used by rated players. How soon we forget.

For people who want to see fewer casuals in the game, or think it would be a good thing to lock casuals into gear that will lock them out of groups of any sort, this is being seen as a “benefit”.
