Enchanting Scaling BROKEN FOR MONTHS!

Actually, they do scale better than dungeon items now, or are around the same power level.

What doesn’t scale correctly is quest items vs dungeon items. A blue item gotten from a quest will have a lower item level than a blue item from a dungeon. I can’t imagine why that is, but it is.

Some do, some don’t. It seems to be random whether they got around to normalizing certain items or categories of items.

When I said:
Level 10 heirlooms = ilvl 29
Level 10 dungeon gear = ilvl 33

I left out quest gear.

Level 10 quest gear = ilvl 9, which is a nerf since Shadowlands, and a dramatic nerf compared to heirloom or dungeon gear, which I think it’s safe to guess is what leveling content is tuned around.

That disparity continues throughout leveling. There are a couple of videos where someone leveled as a new player or with a new player and noted how much lower their ilvl was than heirlooms, and how godawful hard to kill things it was having that awful gear. I can’t think of a good reason why they would want to make the leveling experience so crushing for new players. But maybe they’re counting on players who aren’t quite new but are aware of heirlooms to buy tokens to pay for a full set and upgrades. Or maybe they’re just thinking it will be good for the soul of a new player to find leveling to be really hard and slow. They do love to teach players a lesson in humility, and what better way than to make the already confusing leveling experience hard as heck for new players who have nothing invested in the game and are likely to quit before they reach max level?

is from a dungeon and the item level writing is not green so its not extra upgraded. What is your intention with your incessant nit picking and “what aboutism”? Trolling? the point is I’m proving to you that characters below level 50 can easily get gear higher than ilvl 50 making enchants impossible.

i didn’t dispute that players below 50 could get ilvl50 gear.

you said level 18.

which one?
i can’t find it on any loot tables.

yeah… how dare i ask a question.
in a forum.
related to a particular topic.

so nit picky.

the reason i said level 18 or 19 is because that is the first level that dungeon blues drop higher than ilvl50, i don’t have an 18 or 19 character to prove this but level 20 character i do have and is close enough for the problem that I’m describing that exists for all gear up until current expansion. Those particular boots may have dropped from a random dungeon reward bag or even a battlegrounds winning bag, but all dungeon blues at that level will also be that same ilvl… higher than 50.

Just want Blizzard to fix this broken crafting system and scaling.

Still broken. I am unable to enchant any gear above character level 20 as the legacy enchants won’t work above item level 50. That needs to change please!

The Shoulder and Legs enchants you will never be able to use since it requires level 32 to use em. By that time your item level will be too high with scaling so you cannot ever use em on anything.

This is blizz effort at equity. Since some people complain that they cant afford to enchant thier stuff all the time. Blizz mucks it up for everyone. Hurts all the crafters too who rely on the gold they make from those low to mid-level enchants. The price to level the playing field without making it too obvious.

Anything legacy pre-Shadowlands has been left broken (except most leggos-they finally decided to fix those cause nuff people were upset). Old gear, craft-ables, enchants, etc.

I thought, maybe, they would get down to fixing what shouldn’t have been broken in the first place, but I’m beginning to think I was a sucker.

Here we are at the tail end of Feb 2024, and this still hasn’t been addressed by Blizzard. Why is that?
