I recently went in search of all the enchanting knowledge items out in the world as of 10.2. Of the 14 items listed on Wowhead ten of them are still sitting in my alts (Tras-Muradin) bags unable to be learned. These are:
Forgotten Arcane Tome
Flashfrozen Scroll
Lava-Infused Seed
Enriched Earthen Shard
Lava-Drenched Shadow Crystal
Resonating Arcane Crystal
Shimmering Aqueous Orb
Everburning Core
Pure Dream Water
Essence of Dreams
I have tried reloading the game without addons. Nothing I can think of to try has caused them to become clickable and I know that most of them are items that I’ve never encountered before. I need to learn these knowledge points and it’s quite frustrating that they remain in my bags taking up space and can’t be learned.
There are no “knowledge items” that are routinely disenchanted. This would be a new behavior not described anywhere in the game. I will test it though.
…what do you know? They can be disenchanted. It would be kind of nice if this was explained ANYWHERE in the descriptive text on the item.
I have found the knowledge items for every other profession in the game. For every other profession you right click on the item and you learn it. You don’t have to skin the leatherworking knowledge, mine the blacksmithing knowledge, mill the inscription knowledge, tinker the engineering knowledge, crush the jewel crafting knowledge or unravel the tailoring knowledge; and yet, for some reason, I’m supposed to know that I have to read the tooltip text (which is of course obviously there now) in order to learn the enchanting knowledge?
Okay, they’re being clever and amusing. At least be consistently clever and amusing. I don’t think that is too much to ask? I do appreciate the feedback, though. Now I just need two more points and I’m done pulling my hair out.
I absolutely would have loved it if they added that extra RP factor to every profession item, would have been a great addition for immersion and profession identity.
When in doubt, always read the tooltip. You complained that the information was not available in the game, but it was, you just didn’t read the tooltip.
Then you can provide feedback in the appropriate forums Professions and ask them to change the items, which I doubt they will do given that the expansion is nearly over.
