Well I was just looking at the various shadowflame crests we can get Enchanters to make.
Enchanted Whelpling’s shadowflame crest ilvl 395-408
Enchanted Wyrm’s shadowflame crest ilvl 424-437
Enchanted Aspect’s shadowflame crest ilvl 434-447
Anyone else see a missing crest tier?
There should be a Enchanted Drake’s shadowflame crest ilvl 411-424
So why isn’t there a crest for that tier?
I thought the welps was the 424 one?

All i know is i got all 4 recipes drop on day 1.
The Whelpling Crests are designed to be akin to the Titan Matrixes, usable on blue crafts to get quick gear, not the epic crafts.
Wyrm and Aspect are designed to be the new infusions for epic gear.
Because it is covered by the Spark of Shadowflame that you get for doing the introductory quests and then will get one every two weeks.
I recognized that as well, but then it occurred to me that there’s probably not an Enchanted Drake’s Shadowflame Crest for crafting 411-424 gear because Drake’s Shadowflame Crests can actually be farmed really easily, and they don’t want to make most non-tier gear in Aberrus redundant by making easily-farmable gear in that item level range.
Yeah I forgot about the spark of shadowflame we get every two weeks.
Oh well it was a good idea when I thought of it but as like so many other things, Blizzard is gatekeeping it.
The Drake fragments are rare enough anyway it wouldn’t have been a bad idea.
They actually aren’t that rare, you’re guaranteed one per rare kill in Zaralek, and rare loot eligibility resets every day. From a quick google, there are 20 rares in Zaralek, and it only takes 15 fragments to make a crest. So in a week’s time, you could have nine 424 item level pieces if you did all the rares each day, if there were an enchanted drake crest. That’s pretty significant given we only have 15 slots we need gear for. Two weeks would get you a full set of 424 item level gear, and normal Aberrus would basically be unnecessary.
That would be true if you only needed 1 Drake’s shadowflame crest per enchanted crest.
But as the Wyrm’s and Aspect need multiple crests, that problem is solved. Just make it require 3 crests.
