While ‘Enable Interact Key’ is selected I am having many issues when casting my ‘Power Word: Fortitude’ and ‘Power Word: Shield’ while in solo, in town near npcs, and in raid. When solo and I go to cast my shield it will not auto self cast even though I have the ‘Auto Self Cast’ option selected. If I cast it a 2nd time then sometimes it will auto self cast onto myself, and sometimes it won’t. I have noticed several times over the last few days then when I go to shield myself to use the small burst of speed it gives when running around town that it will cast but not onto myself and I couldn’t figure out what was happening. While in my garrison today I went to use my shield again and noticed it cast onto an npc. I used my fortitude and it did the same thing. Once I turned off ‘enable interact key’ then it auto cast onto myself flawlessly without targeting other npcs. My shield keybind is shift+q, my fortitude is unbound, and my interact key is set to the ’ \ ’ keybind. There seems to be some very weird interactions with auto self cast and enable interact key both enabled.
I’ve noticed this exact same issue. I also encounter the issue while standing next to or on top of resource nodes (such as herbs and ore) - my spell that would normally auto self cast instead highlights my cursor, as if it is asking for a target.
mildly annoying to not be able to use the interact key as a workaround, but for now I’ll playing be without the interact key, as it appears to be the only way to not encounter the problem.
i have been having problems with auto self cast and couldnt figure out why, but i found this i tried disabling the interact key function and now im no longer having issues with auto self cast. so this bug appears to still be a thing?
Having this same issue - tested disabling the interact key and it does seem to fix it. Really don’t want to have to turn that off, though.
Same thing for me. I hate to turn off the interact key because trying to click things around or through Brann in the delves is very annoying since he wants to always get in my way right next to me. But not having the auto self cast working properly is worse.
This bug has plagued me ever since I turned on the interact key when I was doing a world treasure with microscopic crabs. I’m sure it will be easy for them to fix seeing as this was a bug that was around during Dragon Flight beta and they managed to fix it a month or two after launch.
