Hi all,
I'm looking to host an RP event that in character takes place in an empty abandoned mine. Does anyone know of caves, preferably in Kalimdor (especially in Night Elf zones), that are either empty or have sparse/non hostile mobs so as to not bother the group while they are in there?

If you jump into the big pool of water that's swirling around in Darkshore, there's a little cavern inside that's got one non-hostile npc in it.
The only truly empty cave that comes to mind is in Mulgore. If you fly directly east of Thunderbluff you'll see it high up in the mountains. I'm not sure why it's there, totally deserted, but still pretty large.
Can't think of any in night elf zones though that aren't crawling with enemies. Except as Shedae mentioned the one beneath the whirlpool.

Ah, yes, that cave in Mulgore. Be wary there, there's some strange happenings inside.

There's an empty cave off the east coast of Timeless Isle, under water. There's some chairs in a circle with a fire in the middle. Sitting down and clicking the fire will actually teleport you to Gorgrond.
I can't count how many empty caves there are spread around the Broken Isles. Spend some time flying around and checking, and I'm sure you'll find plenty. The ones that come to mind are in Suramar and Val'Sharah.

If you want to consider something aerial, there are those floating land masses in Nagrand. A warlock could summon non flyers there.
There's a cave in Faldir's Cove that will spawn low level quest mobs when a player begins a quest for it. To the west (you may need to fly to reach it), there is another cave that is actually a passage through the mountains.
There's also the Deadmines which only have a couple rares and a single tunnel full of undead.
Honestly, it kind of depends on what kind of caves you're looking for.

While it is not in kalimdor, yesterday on my way to find the Squirky pet on the island off of azsuna, there was a cave on another island that was barren of mobs. Not sure how deep it went since flew over it. but its close to seabreak isle (island with 110 elites and the squirky battle pet). I mention it due to azsuna being a elfy place too
I am sure there is still that cave in the very southern tip of Kalimdor, It is huge and there is nothing in it. You can get to it by flying to the southwest corner of Uldum and look along the coast heading north. There are a few huts and some trees covering the cave entrance.

"I went hunting for this one. That is a GREAT Cave. Nice and big. There is one level 5 Dragon sleeping in the heart of it, but she is friendly to both sides."

"Found this one too. It's not a really deep winding cave, it's just a big single cave. Still a cool place to hang out. The far side of the island does have walrus type mobs, that are hostile, but none by the cave itself."
"Oh, and thanks for the heads up, got the murloc pet, while I was out there. Didn't have that one yet."
