Anyone else have their Battle Pet slots wiped after the patch?

That didn’t happen to me this patch, but I’ve seen it before.

Yes, I’m very confused… all the character pets I had dragged onto the action bars are question marks, and don’t work when I click them. (All of my Pet Battle Teams are also blank… I tried disabling all addons and the issue still exists.)

You probably got hit with a server-side petID reassignment. All your pets lost their unique identifier and got replaced with new ones on the server. There’s no way to get the original identifiers back. This happens once in a while to a few people but not all.
I think in Pet Battle Teams there’s a red button in options someplace to rebuild/recreate teams when this happens. It stores a speciesID alongside the petID for this eventuality.
Rematch handles this behind the scenes by effectively rebuilding all teams automatically when a petID reassignment happens. When this happens the leveling queue gets emptied out because (for now) it uses just the identifier and not the more robust team stats.

Thank you thank you thank you!! “Reconstruct teams” worked! Never would have thought to look at those options. And thank you for the explanation about what happened, now I know I can drag over new companions instead of waiting and seeing if it fixes itself.
