Hero:
I’d remove the coin flip hero tree entirely and rework it as a stealthless “brawler” type. Reworking things like Vanish into an offensive talent, removing stealth to give energy regeneration rates, etc. Less focus on bleeds/stealth/etc, more focus on just being a fighter.
I’d make it where hero talents didn’t center around Vanish entirely… in every spec… all the time.
Specs:
I would revert the DF S1 Outlaw nerfs to pistol shot / between the eyes / fan the hammer and allow that avenue of gameplay to be a thing again. I would deprecate Killing Spree as a talent (even though it’s iconic) and give a significant non-lockdown based short term ability back. I’d make BF a toggle. I’d make Grappling Hook into Hookshot, and change it into a death grip.
I’d revert all Sub changes made in TWW. They were unnecessary and useless.
I’d make poisons permanent. I’d attach Poison Bomb to a target so it can’t be moved out of repeatedly. I’d make AoE garrote a baseline mechanic, same with AoE rupture.
I’d add “Increases Energy Regeneration when below 30% energy by 100%” to Vigor so you can’t just out of energy and be doomed.
I’d re-add Honor amongst Thieves as a raid buff giving 3% crit, giving groups incentive to bring Rogues again.
Game:
I’d remove the “Sees stealth” packs from every group of mobs in M+ allowing Shroud to be a thing again. I’d also allow every weapon type to function for NPC equipment upgrades, instead of just within the same family - it works like that for other classes, why not Rogue specifically?
Adding a raid buff would definitely be nice. Also an energy buff in some way feels necessary. Especially when leveling, Rogue feels so energy starved when you first start off. It was the only class I died while leveling even with heirlooms.
I’d say what if Shadow Dance didn’t necessarily have a long cooldown but if it used up a meter and when you were off shadow dance, it would refill the meter. I don’t know how it’d work balance wise but when I’m questing and I can’t do my opener because I aggro-d the mob, it irritates me that I have to spend my big cooldown otherwise do mediocre damage. Then wait for some dialogue and watch as more mobs spawn and I maybe used a dance charge or two already.
Sometimes it just feels awkward if I killed something way too quickly and I got a few seconds on dance and I have 0-1 charges left. I would want some meter drain instead so I can control my burst instead of just getting a little screwed if I don’t do it at the right time. Hitting like a wet noodle is just painful.
turns death grip into a cone ability that at full strength also acts like the vader choke.
A lot of people have ideas where it’s “hold x to make it do MORE damage” and you gotta realize that you’re just asking for a spell or ability to have a mandatory long cast time (or a longer one if it already had one).
The reason the evoker ones work is because they do not inherently make the ability hit harder. For fire breath and dream breath, the damage/healing just shifts from being over time to up front. For Eternity Surge/Spiritbloom it makes it hit more targets. For upheaval it makes it wider.
Think along those lines
None, Evokers are designed around holding the buttons and it flows well with their kit. If you made other specs and especially melee specs hold a button every now and then in their rotation it’d kill the way they flow.
i hate the press and hold thing. keep it for dragons only, pretty please.
they already experimenting with slicing winds on ww and i dont like it lol
Remorseless winter
The hunt
Cataclysm/shadowfury
Typhoon (charges while moving)
Chaos bolt, but like, you can empower it indefinitely.
That button should feel like the spirit bomb from DBZ. I’m just hunkered down, empowering my body with Fel energy, my flesh peeling and sizzling off from the raw power coursing through my veins.
Then we let it rip and hit you with an actual nuke.
Charge Shot: Start empowering a long cast that, upon full empowerment, fires a massive blast in a narrow AoE that pierces all targets hit for wombo damage.
Probably would be neat as a PvP talent. Kinda like Chronosphere except cooler because you get to RP as Megaman for a bit.
