Seriously, there’s no value to be derived from spamming a macro that emotes at a player to the point it fills up their chatlog. Its just pointless noise meant to annoy the player on the receiving end. By no means do i think emotes in bgs / open world be banned but i think many people can agree the whole macroing emotes to a spell you cast every 5s with the intent to annoy other players doesn’t really add anything.
It can be kind of fun sometimes. Reminds me of an anime fight where people are yelling while they attack.
It is for an achievement, don’t report me please. If anything, blame blizzard. If I’m being honest, I surprised anyone reads chat in a bg.
Its actually psychological warfare, so it makes sense to have it in pvp
Disrupting your enemy’s communications is a solid tactic in battle, bravo whoever did this.
I mean if thats the case, then maybe we should just by default have the entire enemy team muted to prevent such a thing.
Seems to be working
How long until all chat is just canned chat where you pick an option of what to say? Wouldn’t want to hurt someone’s fragile feelings.
i think theres a difference between: i don’t want someone spamming the rofl emote to the point it fills up the chat box several times and i don’t want anyone saying anything i don’t like.
I hate to say something you might not like but to me those two things are the same.
yeah i keep forgetting this is the internet where being an annoying jerk is somehow free speech.
So report them? this aint specific to emotes in bgs.
spamming in chat ought to be a silence.
I dont mind any emote they want to have in the game. But spamming is another issue.
Cant you just ignore the player? Idk how it works cross faction, but it doesnt take that long to add someone to ignore.
If I read chat ingame, I wouldn’t be able to play the game. But luckily I don’t. yaay for me .
you can yes. but the fact that someone is able to effectively disarm communication by macroing /rofl or /laugh to their abilities is a bit uh…stupid. Again, no problem with emoting when you’ve killed an enemy or the like but it gets a bit excessive when it fills a chatbox to the point it actively damages a teams ability to communicate effectively.
lol…pretty much have to tab out entirely just to resist the urge to respond to some of the idiocy in chat

but the fact that someone is able to effectively disarm communication by macroing /rofl or /laugh to their abilities is a bit uh…stupid.
Its stupider to not use your existing tools and demand bans.
Does ignoring them stop that from happening?
As far as im aware yes it does. Despite this, i still think being able to fill up peoples chatboxes with emotes is a design issue that promotes unsporting behavior.
