Therefore the Randomly Generated argument falls flat. It’s not so random.
I don’t see which dots you’re connecting to arrive at that. There have been instances, such as right after patch, where Alliance had 4 azerite rewards in a row, while horde got gold and resources - at that specific time point, the value of an Azerite reward was fairly high. If this were not randomly generated, and horde favoritism as you’re claiming, how do you explain that?
Edit:
More to the point, having the rewards be different depending on faction is just another little irritant, which seems to be the main feature of BFA - a massive collection of small annoyances. There are better ways to incite a faction war than this.
‘Swim through a river of sewage, theres a twinkie on the other side.’
No thanks.
Its fine if you don’t want to pvp for a weapon, i’m just pointing out that there’s a super easy way to get one.
We needed another thread on this topic today? Your point was so fresh and new and original that you couldn’t have joined the discussion here?
I realize that, but that’s a common response to the ‘I need a weapon’ posts, which is not what this is. This is a ‘there hasnt been a weapon emmisary for Alliance since before the patch’.
Theres a lot of us that would rather just keep the 370’s than have to PVP. Also, if all you need is a weapon, Cata timewalking is 385 that can WF up to 405. I got my offhand in my 4th TW dungeon.
How is a complaint about not getting a weapon specific emissary, not also a complaint about needing a higher level weapon?
Let’s not forget these things scale, so while your main might get a 415 weapon from the emissary, your alt(s) might not scale up that high, or even much higher than their current weapons.
Let’s also not forget that weapon emissaries aren’t the only way to get weapons, and are probably the least efficient way to do so, although they are the most effortless way.
I am curious as to how they are not an efficient way to do so. 10 minute for four world quests and a guaranteed weapon (unless you can use shields/offhands). Capping conquest takes several hours, and specifically awards you a weapon twice per season, I believe, behind a weekly lockout. All other options are chances at a weapon (and sometimes nothing).
Weapon emissaries are the most efficient way to obtain a weapon up to 415, period.
my paladin got a ret weapon and 2 different essences, plus weekly done, when i did pvp IE last week. there’s almost no pvp in them either. it’s just who can pve faster.
But weapon emissaries, even for the blessed Horde, are not always available. When a weapon emissary is up, guaranteed will always beat RNG. For all those other times though, there are better/more efficient ways to target weapons and go for them, such as: Dungeons.
M+ dungeons are always available, have no limit to the dungeons you can run daily, and you can target specific dungeons to increase chances of getting a weapon from the end-of-dungeon chest.
Thus, M+ is more efficient way, on any given day.
Heck, even M0’s now drop 400, and weapons can warforge up to +10 item levels over, are easy to run for most people and don’t carry that stigma of Raider.io most players associate with M+. Can run M0’s all day long.
I mean, I timed all 15s for the achievement last season, I understand how that works.
I also have 17 alts (all 400+ ilvl). 5 of them are duplicates because allied races and heritage armor, but I generally tend to keep the rest ready to fill in for raiding or M+. There is not enough time in the day to reasonably do that.
I don’t think anyone is asking for there to be weapon emissaries every day. The discussion here is that there is literally no reason for the disparity. My horde character that I rarely play has better weapons than two of my characters I actively run keys on.
There is a reason – the players may not agree with it, but one does exist. Poorly thought out? Probably. Annoying for players? Absolutely. Probably something along the lines of “keeping the factions distinct.”
I understand the concept behind such an idea, but I can also understand players’ frustrations at how that idea manifests itself in the game. Since I don’t see them changing their stance on keeping the experience between factions distinct – because the division between factions is at the heart of the franchise – I have no respite but to offer recommendations for players to get weapons other than the 10min easy emissary.
what is the ilevel of their weapons? most of my around 400ish toons just got 400 ilevel weapons from the emissary. coining the WB on them would give a better weapon.
I think you mean division between factions is at the heart of the franchise for the first patch, and then we skip merrily holding hands to defeat the big bad for the rest of the expansion.
Emissaries did not work like this during legion, nor would this have been an issue in legion due to artifacts. Offering suggestions is fine, but so is providing feedback on something that causes irritation.
I honestly don’t think it is intentional, a few weeks ago it was nothing but gold for awhile. I think they should just make the rewards the same on both sides and it will solve this problem.

Horde favoritism…
no more than it was alliance favoritism when they got 603485034958345093485 azerite emissaries at a time when it was much more important than it is now. not to mention most peoples mains are doing higher content so it’s just casuals and alts that get weapons from emissaries. which is MUCH different than the azerite was when it came out a while back.
Agreed, such a simple fix. Champions/Tortollans already work this way. Then we could all complain about the same thing!
I meant Warcraft in general, from Orcs vs Humans through WoW vanilla through the convoluted faux-war we have now. The day they truly remove that divide and merge the factions as some players desire, is the day this franchise dies.
