Here’s my thoughts after witnessing all of the chaos and complaining… and how to fix it.
Mythic dungeons were roughly scaled by a factor of +10 difficulty, meaning a mythic zero is supposedly as hard as a mythic +10 from last season. Heroic dungeons are supposedly scaled to be more like normal mythic dungeons now, so why not make the emissary quest completable by doing all heroics? Keep the reward the exact same with 2x bullion, and just keep it scaled to how difficult it has always been in the past…

I guess the idea that “low level mythics were too faceroll for the reward offered” just doesn’t enter into the equation, eh?
I still think M0 is too faceroll, but why have a standard for so many years and crap on it? Who is this for? Why does a massive portion of the player base who can’t handle higher mythics have to get cut out of doing things? It just seems incredibly stupid, give the homies some loot for christ sake. Giving loot hurts NOBODY, taking away loot hurts MANY.

Huh, I didn’t think about this before now. I think it’s a valid point. Is the quest supposed to be about the actual difficulty mode for the dungeons, or is it supposed to be about the power level of the dungeons? It’s probably the former, since the objective was unchanged, but I imagine Blizz didn’t give it any thought either.

While it was definitely a chance for a lot of players to get a piece of loot that would have normally been out of their reach, is that really such a bad thing? So every few weeks, everyone who cared about such things got a “free” piece of gear, who cares?
The alternative is to have the current situation where participation/completion of that particular weekly plummets and those people play less that week? is that really a win? lol

If it wasn’t about power level, then the Timewalking weekly would have rewarded the same thing as the mythic dungeon one. And/or the mythic dungeon one would require 5 dungeons instead of just the 4. Seeing as M0/+2s were about as mindless as running through a TW dungeon. Especially at the end of a season.
Yep, with how rare the emissary quests are, I think it’s completely reasonable and good to give people a big boost to powerful items.
Gotta look at it from Blizzard’s side though, not necessarily how it’s engaged with by the players. On paper, mythic is above heroic/TW, regardless of whether or not for some players they’re all effectively the same thing.
I’m gonna be upfront and say that to me, it’s a question of semantics. If the quest was about the dungeon difficulty being set to mythic, then there’s no real issue even if it’s now harder to complete from a tuning standpoint. But if the quest is about how hard the dungeons are from a tuning standpoint, then with heroics now being what mythics used to be, again, it seems like a valid point to raise as to why the quest doesn’t ask for heroic clears instead.
Seriously, I thought that was going to happen from season 4.
Its not like the difficulty was increase from previous M0 to previous M+2 or +3.
An increase to previous M+10 all of a sudden is a huge slap in the face imho
