What’s it gonna do… NOT last a year?
I mean it is standard WoW patch stuff. In regards to how long it’ll last, we do know there’s a planned Season 4 Fated style, and that they mentioned there’s still a “ton” of story to tell post raid so I imagine that’s what’s expected to keep us busy till TWW, which DF is supposed to bridge us into as well.
Don’t forget we will have 10.2.5 ahead which will probably bring new content. Forbidden Reach was added in a .5 or .7 patch, I forget which. Dream Surges and other events also added in minor patches.
We know we are at least getting a .5 patch, we also know for a fact we are getting Season 4 according to Ion so there will likely be one more dungeon rotation for dungeon folks. Its unclear if we get a .7 but we also know we will likely get a pre-expansion event probably a few weeks or month before the expansion.
i only play wow for pvp so it doesnt really matter to me but I was just surprised i think everyone will clear it fast, it will only exist for what a world boss and a raid?
Im seeing all these comments about a .5 or a .7 patch adding what another small island where we farm rares? o.O

I’ll gear up the characters on my accounts, but I probably wont stay the whole year.
Which is fine, I can finally stop procrastinating on finishing BG3. Amazing game but man is it long.

Not even close really, but i’m going to prolly make a few characters and do some other older stuff
They’ve cooled down with their “cram as much stuff into a theme park zone as possible” way of zone design since WoD, but it’s still a theme park.
Everyone knows that the zones are way smaller than they are in the lore. But a big part of me has always hoped that they’d shift their zone design to include more space, make them more realistically large, with more “useless” area.
If you think about it, this is exactly the reason why Nagrand has always been so popular. It covers the lie well and you are able to forget that you’re in a video game world.
One thing I really liked about Ardenweald in SL was that if you approached the edge of the zone and looked out, you’d see a vast stretching expanse of forest. You couldn’t* go down into it, but it added so much to the immersion. They did this as well in Legion’s Invasion Point Bonich world.
This new zone is supposed to just be a small pocket of the dream. A nice way of using the fiction to help mask the limitations of game design and budget. And, distant islands/land can be seen off on the horizon. It’s a great zone, but yeah it does feel small.

Definitely worth it – and another few playthroughs if you’re so inclined. There really is an enormous amount of story there, and so many paths.
Zereth mortis did just fine. Actually became one lf my favorite zones in the entire game
How many people have actually done everything in the rest of Dragonflight though? Or the rest of the game? There’s still like 20 years of content to do that people haven’t finished yet.

I don’t think its meant to last a year. They have stated in an interview with MrGm that they still plan to have new patches every 2 months even tho its the last raid. They teased content that no one is expecting and said they like the idea of a fated season again. In the past they have said they would probably do something for open world players in a fated season so there’s that too.
In the read up it talked about it was approx the size of of the Caverns.

Yep, starting with DF they’ve been adding content in .x.5 patches, not just .x patches. So saying DF only has 10.1 and 10.2 is not accurate.

And you have to be realistic, you’re not getting a whole gameworld sized zone in a single content patch.
