SoD’s final days on the horizon. This isn’t dooming, it’s just a fact that we know that it will stop getting support. Once that happens, guild structures will shrink or crumble in places where they can’t shrink.
My hope, or cope, is that Blizzard has plans for what the process of a shrinking SoD looks like.
I would love to see max level versions of the level-up raids adjusted for 10-man speed running for instance. Something you could log in week after week and improve at. Maybe a rotation where only one of the heroic raids is open per week to focus the attention/competition onto that specific raid.
Additionally, retrofitting Karazhan and ZA as 10-man SoD content could be amazing as well. ZA already has a speed run focus so it would fit right in with the paradigm for a late-stage SoD.
Just my take of course, but I feel like 20 mans are not going to be sustainable in the twilight hours of SoD. Closing the loop and returning to 10 man just makes sense to me.
I’d argue 10-mans are inherently more flexible for the average player to access.
On that note the 20-40 person raids aren’t going to go anywhere. This would simply be additional recycled content with low overhead that certain dedicated players could sink their teeth deep into. Leveling up new alts and gearing them through Naxx and SE would still be there for more casual players.
And if Kara/ZA were to somehow be retrofitted into 10-man content, Kara is historically pretty PUG friendly as it is.
Probably not unless they have kept it a secret all this time. You’re most likely right though it’s doubtful. I think the “lol” at the end of your reply is unnecessary here though. Just saying it would be nice.
A phase 9 with just a 10 man would be kind of lame. I’d rather they make tower a 20 man at that point or make another new/remastered 20 man to go alongside it in phase 9 (if we get a phase 9).
10-men content was amazing and easy to put together. Coordinating 20 or 40 people is a pain the behind, and definitely not sustainable as fun as it is.
