No, it’s what happens when a huge chunk of the player base just buys gold and then doesn’t mind paying more for whatever they need because they can effectively farm thousands of gold an hour by swiping their card. That’s a pretty basic economic principle.
End of the day, you are derailing this thread.
No it isn’t.
The more gold on the server the more gold you make from doing the same things you do on a newer server.
The prices reflect the amount of gold on the server as a whole.
More gold on the server means higher prices but those prices are on relation to how much gold you make.
You won’t see prices of say a haste potion on Bene go for 1g because you make far more gold than that playing the game.
You will see that same haste pot on a new server for for 1g because there is no gold on that server, the rate at which you make gold on that server is far slower than the gold you make on the 7g haste potion server.
7g on my server is equal to 1g on a new server in this scenario.
Server economies are a meme.
If dailies were the only way to farm gold then I’d agree, since the amount of gold you earn is a standard rate and doesn’t change based off prices of trade goods, but this isn’t the case.
Inflation only works if wages don’t go up.
You aren’t making gold. You’re buying it.
The amount of gold you get from a daily quest doesn’t increase because there’s more gold on a server. You’re assuming everyone’s gold income comes from the most profitable means. It doesn’t.
Bruh, how are you drawing these conclusions.
Just stop, your derailing the thread
The only wage not going up on servers with more gold is stuff like dailies.
You will make far more gold on Benediction doing anything than on a server that’s new.
Threads trash anyway.
Wow people are getting badges…who cares.
On this we agree.
It goes against the games design, it opens doors for future bad decisions, its a solution to fix early emblem gain being disguised as a carrot on a stick to quest.
This is why new servers are a meme.
Y’all have no gold so stuff is cheaper.
On my server you will earn gold much faster but things will be more expensive.
This is actually bad going into wotlk because wotlk vendors have standard prices.
Like the mammoth mount or the kirin tor rings.
Server economies are a meme.
while we have you here, can we get some dates for arena season ending, prepatch etc?
What future?
We all quitting in a year.
Badge gear is useless.
It’s bad that everyone won’t be able to swipe their way to a mammoth?
You can literally swipe in all games.
Wow is no different.
Show me a MMO you can’t swipe in.
Other stuff is bad so you just accept it and never try to improve? Good thing you don’t design cars.
multiple heroism items are bis, it adds more frozen cores into the market, it bandaids a issue they created with 10man dropping valor instead of heroism and many people will feel heroic dungeons are a waste of time yet still run them to get a bis piece instead of clearing raids on both difficulties, which since the change will flood more weekly valor into players making the first tier of gearing even easier than before.
It creates a situation, where people could expect dailies in phase 2 to then give valor since conquest is the new hot emblem.
It is a slippery slope scenario.
What dumb logic.
It’s irrelevant if someone is swiping, no game is able to stop it.
Wow some idiot bought gold for a mount.
You lie awake at night worried about what other people do in an imaginary game?
This is a game.
You’re the one that’s obsessed with gold. I’m the one pointing out the game doesn’t need it. If people want to find a way to buy stuff with real money anyway that’s their problem.
But not forcing people to waste their time grinding gold is a positive for most.
You have been literally ranting about gold.
Not obsessed but it’s part of the game.
It is for sure part of the game this version is trying to replicate.
Ff14 does what you want, they shower you will gold to the point it has 0 value.
I can’t say if that’s a good model or not but that isn’t what this game does.
I have fun with my guild raiding, someone buying a million gold to buy a mount isn’t changing that.
I got Thoridal for free, others paid for it, that doesn’t ruin my accomplishment.
