Embarrassing classic moments

I ran out of ammo in the middle of RFD. I had to switch to melee but only had the wingblade from WC still, so my melee was pathetic and we couldn’t do the escort quest in large part due to my bad planning (hate the 200 stack limit on ammo stacks!). I located a replacement for myself and bailed

Another time I was in a SM lib group where we got to the first boss and no one was there, and we were all to stupid to realize what had happened. Cleared the whole thing and last boss wasn’t there. I was the first to realize that the leader hadn’t properly reset the instance from a prev run with another group

Anyone else make a fool of themselves yet in classic?

“Wait, I actually need water!”

While not technically embarrassing, this still made me laugh (and others laugh once I told them in General chat).

I travel with a blue and yellow turtle, and am currently questing in the Wetlands. I went after the Dragonmaw Clan orcs, killing them for their banners. One ran uphill and I followed; after the fight, I went downhill again.

My screen was at such an angle that when my pet turtle dropped off the hill while following me, he looked HUGE. I cried out IRL because I thought some big, unexpected monster was coming after me.

Dang near gave me a heart attack.

The water I was prepared for, but “wait, I actually need a wand!” caught me a little flat footed.

Also the first time I pulled more than one mob while questing. “I can handle tha-OHGODRUN”

Probably an embarrassing moment for both me and a friend but we were both grinding boars. Skins for me, meat for them. But we both died to the same boar like 3 different times. We did eventually won the battle so we moved on to continue questing.

I been spamming lfg in cities, and didn’t know Looking for Group channel exists until a guy told me.

That happened to me in WC. And I started with a full quiver, of course I was low level with a medium quiver but still, that’s something like 1300 arrows. Was meleeing for the last half hour.

My friend fell off Thunderbluff. I told /1 to whisper him and laugh.

Running out of ammo in Deadmines is like a rite of passage for Alliance hunters because they typically have the smallest quiver/ammo bag at that point and maybe they’re rocking 8 slot bags, so they usually don’t have a lot of room to carry extra ammo that can be transferred into their quiver/pouch.

So if your group is doing the quest mobs outside the instance, then goes in the instance, then maybe they have one or two wipes or something, it’s really easy to run out of ammo before Van Cleef.

I filled out the entire map in felwood, and was looking carefully at the map to see what was missing because I didn’t get the Explore Felwood achievement. That was a big d’oh moment for me.

It seems like most people dont know the lookingforgroup channel exists. Trade chat seems to be 90% lfg, 5% trade, and 5% other junk. I dont have a problem with that though, just an observation.

I died on the UC elevator… Twice.
If you autorun and the door closes you get stuck and the elevator goes down… And so do you after a few seconds.

I drowned the first time i went underwater… ugh so embarrassing

had to run to thunderbluff from xr for a quest

got killed by those level 18ish mobs, got annoyed and decided to just run to thunderbluff as a ghost

ran to thunderbluff, couldn’t find the spirit healer

press ESC, the option to return to closest spirit healer

end up at camp taurajo again

now that i am thinking about it i am not sure if this was embarrassing or just sad…

Devilsaur snuck up on me in Ungoro

Trying to get the lieutenant’s insignia in skull rock outside of Org. Killed everything in the cave probably three times over losing my mind. Ran out of bag space, looked to see what I could toss, and there it is in my bag…

Not if you’re an engineer. I totally took the opportunity to smelt copper/make bullets when we reached the Goblin forge area. It’s one of the reasons why I like the Deadmines.

Now, Wailing Caverns, there was a “I’m loading my gun with rocks instead of bullets” moment, lol.

Was using the first mob in Stockades to level up my unarmed and defence skills, where I tanked him until about 5% of my health and zoned out of the instance.

When I did that , the event outside with the defias started and I died with one hit from a random mob in front of a huge group of people meeting there for the dungeon.

someone tried to pity-res me but I didnt take it, I deserved the walk of shame back there

I just hearthed from STV back to desolace because I didn’t update my hearth. I made the best of it by flying to ratchet to grab BB FP I forgot to pick up so not the worst but initially I was not impressed with myself.

Yeah some don’t know about it for sure but if I’m starting a group and I’m in a city I’ll spam lfm in both trade and lfg
