Emails being sent out giving "Warnings" to people who were in GDKP's

This doesn’t answer my question. I’m asking you if you know what forums we are on? Are these the Runescape forums or the Final Fantasy forums? Did you get this email regarding your Runescape or Final Fantasy account?

Those two sentences are mutually exclusive. This is a video game where the rules are totally arbitrary and at the discretion of the creators. There are no “natural laws” here. Either something is against the rules or it is permissible.

That had nothing to do with an email that clarifies a rule change.

LOL

No they absolutely do not, I’ve been playing that for two decades and if you think they’ve ever had any kind of consistency with application of punishments you’re off your rocker. For a while there was even a mod that was deeply involved with an RMT group and gave leniency to their people and harsh bans for their competition, before he got caught and fired anyway.

It’s fine, I gotcha brother.

Once again if you have any evidence whatsoever that this is any kind of norm, feel free to provide it, otherwise you’re just making stuff up.

If you actually think that the rules of a video game are the only thing that determines whether something is good or bad, that is deeply screwed up on many levels.

Right, so I’ll assume that you actually don’t know what forums these are. These are the WOW forums. You got this email regarding a WOW policy change.

What runescape and final fantasy are doing is completely IRRELEVANT here.

Legit went to 1 GDKP ever, this week. Cause my guild wanted a week break till phase 2, and I thought why not. You can check my logs to see this is the case. Ran with them all phase 1, until the last lockout this phase, where I joined a random GDKP.

If I’m full BIS, and my guild takes the last week off. Of course I’m not gonna go to some soft reserve where I don’t need any loot, when I can make 5-10 gold slapping bosses around casually.

Give me a scale of how bad what I did was, 1-10. Really curious.

Probably around a 3? Definitely on the low end because you only did it once, but you still knowingly went into a situation where you would be paid gold by people who spent real money on it, because you knew it was an effective way to make money.

If you think that only people who GDKP buy gold then my sweet summer child. Let me tell you. People who DON’T GDKP also buy gold. Please refrain from being shocked. I’m sure you will want to call me a filthy liar or whatever your echo chamber is parroting in your ear. Most people who GDKP don’t need to buy it and those that do buy it are stupid and should be banned. That tier piece in BFD would go for 5g or maybe even 40g if someone needs it for a set. If you think people are buying gold to buy that and not the leather BOE shoulders or pants going for absurd amounts on the AH then you might need a reality check. Tell me that you actually want RMT and Bots banned then I will believe that you don’t buy gold. Instead of this drivel being spewed about “omg gdkps are so bad guys. Like. So bad. Like I heard. That they ALL buy gold.”

Oh, don’t give me that nonsense. That’s the same logic the anti-video game lobbyists use when they claim only psychopaths would play games where you kill people!

Look, going back to the customer service argument, all Blizzard had to say was “In future we will consider this conduct to be exploitative and inappropriate”. Boom. Customer service 101.

Protip: 1-10 is your scale.

HTH.

I like the Lain anime too, fellow mind broken dude from an hour ago.

it’s easy, don’t be a filthy GDKPer

I don’t and never said that I did? Plenty of people will still buy gold. It will just be a lot less, because the biggest money sink in the game is now against the rules. It’s far from a perfect solution but any improvement helps, and if Blizzard is unwilling to spend money on a full staff of GMs to police stuff in person then we get what we get.

It does. But you are just ignoring specific things being said to try to create some circular logic.

People are seeking clarification because it is worded as an official warning for something that wasn’t against TOS at the time it was done. Warnings are a first step in most penalty systems. If you get falsely reported then the action taken against you might be harsher than it would have previously.

Last time I will say this to you.

I’ve no idea what that is.

Ya, not sure who made that argument, but it wasn’t me. Me and them were talking about if

Do something bad ->Possible discretionary warning->ban short duration->ban longer duration ->Repeat until perma applied.

was an industry norm or not. You can use the buttons at the top right of posts to follow convos.

How is a 500g BOE on the AH less of a money sink than a 5g BOP in a raid? It is illogical at best. They also do temp bans for people that buy gold. So that logic also doesn’t track. Ban them longer. Permanently. How can they only give temp bans but nothing more but an entire loot system and social community has to be told too bad so sad play the way you rejected for a better way that works for you and your life because we don’t want to deal with the actual problem.

But this is woefully off topic now.
