I downloaded Elvui to get a better UI, but I can’t get used to it. It might be nice to know how to set up the elvui for disc, or if I should have just kept the original UI.
I actually use Angelo WoW’s UI for everything with some minor adjustments. You can import any UI that you like after downloading it. I use Wago.io
for my WeakAuras and Elvui profiles.
I used Elvui for years, mostly because I liked the dot timer bars under the player and target frame. Also liked how they allowed us to “visually” keybind our bars by mousing over the square and pressing the key. Thankfully the default UI now allows this feature.
For shadowlands I switched it up and am going with default, but adding in weak auras to see how that works out. So far I’ll mostly happy.
I’ve always used Clique to bind spells for healing etc, paired with the stock Blizzard “Raid style party frames”
Works really well.
I’ve tried the default UI, and there are just too many darn spells in Disc’s kit to keep on the default bars. When I needed to dispel, on my old UI, I had to trifle through several bars of stuff. Here, it’s really weird to switch. It also might not help that everything key bound is new.

Though right now it’s being trash for me and not loading you can find some good profiles there to load and try out

For Elvui specific premade UI packages
It’s not loading for me either. Must have broken something.
Honestly any UI will take a little while to get use to. I started using ElvUI as my default UI 6 months ago and find it fantastic now. It did take me a little while to get use to it but I like it better then any other (Healbot, Grid, Bartender + default UI, VuhDo).
It really depends if you are looking to transform your entire UI or not. If so then ElvUI is really good. If you’re just looking to have a solid UI for raid frames and healing, then VuhDo is really good.
At the end of the day it’s what you find most enjoyable, but just from my own personal experience, I always found that it took me a week or two to get use to a new UI after switching it.
That’s what I use clique for. You can bind your mouse buttons or any key to healing spells, that only trigger when your mouse is hovering over the party or raid frame of the person you’re healing.
So for example, “2” could cast an attack at the enemy you’re targeting, but when you mouseover the tanks health bar, “2” might cast bubble or penance or whatever you set it to.
Another example, I like to keybind (via Clique) my dispel spells as control + left click. I don’t need to put dispel on my bars at all.
I don’t like ElvUI. Much prefer just using dominos/bartender, moveanything, a bag addon, and a units frame addon (I use shadowed).
Action cam
i use benikui (its an extension of elvui) and really like it. I don’t think I could ever go back to default. It’s too ugly.
https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/bind-pad
Gives you a window to place abilities/macros and you keybind them there so you don’t have 120 bars on your screen
I just put all my abilities on my action bars and use a macro to hide/show them
When it askes you if you are a healer, dps, or tank, skip that step. It screws up the interface, IMO. Once you run through the initial setup (skipping that step), you will need to go in and make additional action bars visible and move things around to your liking.
I started using Elvui when I started playing during Cata and I could never go back to the default UI. Elvui is awesome, IMO.
Also just because Elvui has a module for something like say Chat or Nameplates doesn’t mean that’s what you have to use. I disable Elvui bags and use ArkInventory, disable nameplates and use Plater, disable buffs and use CTMod. You can enable/disable or configure anything you want in any way you want with Elvui which is why I’m always confused when people say they don’t like it. You can change pretty much anything
I accidentally made my quest log larger, and Idk what to do.
When I switched back to default, I not only made it smaller, but also scrambled my bars.
Aaaaah
If you do not want a full UI replacement then just install the addons you need for the issue you are trying to solve. If action bars are the problem then use Bartender.
