Based off the Data for Azeroth the top two played races are Blood Elf at 14.6% of players and Night Elf at 12.6%. What draws people more towards Elves over all the other races and for you personally do you play an Elf or what other race do you play for your character and why did you choose that one?

Lacking of personality, these people are boring in real life so in the virtual world they want to pretend they don’t, look at me how beautiful and cool I am, I’m Johnny Awesome! In the end their ingame characters end up revealing their lackings.

some people like to be a deflection of their real world counterparts.

when youre short ugly and old. you want to be tall beautiful and ageless

some people like shadowmeld

others like me just want to look like we look irl but green.

its a matter of preference really. but most people play role playing games to play the roles they cant be in real life.

I have had like so many elf toons over the years, covering all subraces, more than any other race I’ve played.

I just like elves.

The irony is that, in lore, it’s the Trolls that grow out of control, but as far as player races goes:

  • Night Elf
  • Blood Elf
  • Nightborne Elf
  • Void Elf
  • Undead Elf
  • Soon-To-Be-Troll/Dirt-Elves

You just can’t kill enough of them. Worst yet, this isn’t their final form. We still have Midnight, so we get an entire year of dealing with knife-eared weirdos.

Night Elves are actually from Trolls, so really there’s a lot of trolls in the game.

This being a fantasy game, I’m going to assume elves are the most popular because they have an “exotic” fantasy element to them, while still being aesthetically pleasing and the closest to humans.

because the majority of wow players are guys who do not have gf so they like to look at pretty elf butts as they play the game

Conventionally attractive. It’s a bit easier to make a cool looking Night Elf, especially since they fixed Scowl Elves with the model updates.

Also, demon hunter.

And Shadowmeld is probably the single best pure utility ability in the game. ‘Stuck in combat’ has been a bug since '04 and the only reliable fix is shadowmeld.

Blood elves and void elves look the absolute best in 95% of all transmogs in the game. For me it’s that simple.

Night elves also look good but not as good imo.
