I thought Elune to be more on the level of the other Pantheons. Almost to the point where I think people are reading too much into the Power of Elune, or Aman’Thul (all Pantheon of Order) had been unjustly “weaken” by Blizzard.
- By this I mean, Aman’Thul was equal to power as Sargeras, as Elune, as Zovaal, but something happened to remove that power.
Blizzard, not being 100% sure of where they were going with the story, had lead to the Pantheons all feeling as if they were of different power scales. (maybe they are)
I believed Elune to be on the same level as the other pantheon, she was just the “leader” of the cosmic force of Life. All viewing each other as “siblings.”
1.) First Ones created 6 cosmic forces; (Or maybe 3 that “spawned” the other 3)
- Life → Death
- Light → Shadow
- Order → Disorder
2.) From those cosmic forces, “Pantheon” either arose, or were put in place.
Cosmic Forces of Life:
- Pantheons
- Elune, (plus whoever else)
Cosmic Force of Light:
- Pantheons
- The Keepers (Names Unknown)
Cosmic Force of Disorder:
- Pantheons
- Argus, Sargeras, (plus whoever else)
Cosmic Force of Death:
- Pantheons
- Zovaal, Archon, Primus, Winter Queen, Denathrius, (plus whoever else)
Cosmic Force of Shadow:
- Pantheons
- The Void Lords (Names Unknown)
Cosmic Force of Order:
- Pantheons
- Aman’Thul, Eonar, Norgannon, Golganneth, Khaz’goroth, Aggramar
3.) From this, the Pantheon of Order took it upon themselves to “govern” (read: help) another cosmic force, as they believed it was their responsibility. Keep them “in-line” and ensure that balance throughout the Cosmos was kept.
- Aman’Thul was set to “govern” Order (Rest of the Pantheon)
- Eonar was set to “govern” Life - (Her ties to Elune)
- Sargeras (Aggramar later) was set to “govern” Disorder (Ties to the Fel/Void Lords)
- Norgannon was set to “govern” Light
- Golganneth was set to “govern” Shadow
- Kha’goroth was set to “govern” Death
4.) The fall of Sargeras lead to the Burning Crusade, which ultimately lead to disorder overcoming the cosmos.
- Most of life had been killed off by the Legion, which would have ultimately empowered Zovaal.
- Zovaal, being the “Leader of the Pantheon of Death” began to grow in power to the point it concerned Elune, the Pantheon of Life.
- Elune, with her connection to Eonar and the Winter Queen, joined the Pantheon of Order, Death and maybe(?) Life to imprison Zovaal. Constructing the Arbiter to take his place.
- Now, Zovaal, Denathius, using the Dreadlords, Legion, etc along with the Pantheon of Disorder, sent a “Trojan Horse” Argus world soul to disable the Arbiter and ultimately lead to the “freeing” or restored power of Zovaal.
- Once Zovaal has his power back, being the “Leader of Death” will probably seek the Sepulcher as that is the place World Souls(Pantheon) go after they die. With those world souls(Pantheon), he’d be able to make his own new Death Pantheon to fight the Pantheon of Order, Elune, etc…
