Elune should have been one of the First Ones

Severe ethereal doubt tbh

and if they do that, why did they not make An’she/Elune First Ones so the playerbase had long-term care for that tier of being lol

an easy buy-in stepping stone

I think they plan to actually have Elune in the story like they did they Eternals in Shadowlands, and the forgot An’she existed. I almost 100% guarantee you we would see them name a sun god Belore before An’she. Because thats just how they seem to think.

Which is probably almost certainly a terrible idea. But here we are.

Azeroth is a Titan. If Elune stems from Azeroth, that likely means she’s equal to or less powerful than a Titan since Azeroth is more powerful than the other Titans. The Pillar of Elune is strong evidence she’s related to the naaru, but stronger than them. How this works with her being the Fae Queen’s ‘sister’ remains to be seen. But tbh, I prefer it being ambiguous. Too much clarity would reduce her ‘majesty’. Some things are more powerful when at least part of them remain mysterious.

Kinda weird right? Tauren and blood elves had ‘sun’ quotes before An’she was revealed, and the druids received solar powers because of An’she. But it’s likely because Elune has a close relationship with the night elves. Tauren try to incorporate everything natural in their religion, but they don’t have any special relationship with any one divine being. But existing lore seems to imply strongly that An’she has just as much sentience as Elune.

Elune makes no sense now. Why is she a true deity, when her sister is not? Also, An’she better be real.

I dont think deities in the sense you are thinking exist in the warcraft universe. At least not anymore as the Progenitors are dead/gone. That quote about Elune can be considered non-canonical at this point.

The Pantheons each have a role as divine caretakers of an allotted role in the overarching divine plan of the Progenitors. They are the stewards of Reality, and thus the closest thing we have to deities.

Which makes killing them a little weird, but here we are.
