There seems to be some confusion with a particular group of people that lack comprehension, so there’s a part two to this particular train wreck that is ‘Blizzard Writing’.

‘But Elune says "In the wake of tragedy!’, she’s not responsible for what happened to the Night Elves!

She’s referencing a specific point in time when she answered the Winter Queen’s plea, the actual bit you need to pay attention to is when the Winter Queen tells her that those souls were claimed by the Maw:

‘Then I have condemned my favorite children.’

This is the bit that said people are ignoring. Elune intentionally allowed her children to perish because she thought they were going to Ardenweald, letting her devoted followers burn so the Winter Queen can have all that anima.

But wait, it gets better.

Which again, strongly implies she intentionally wanted them all to die because she thought they were going to help her cabbage-faced sister.

‘But Elune doesn’t interfere in mortal affairs!’

Scythe of Elune? Priestesses of the Moon? The Night Warrior?

‘That’s just empowerment!’

Seems to me Elune has the ability to turn the curse on and off at will, unless this didn’t happen:

AND, she gives Tyrande the CHOICE for vengeance or renewal, which is rather strange, Elune didn’t give any of the OTHER Night Warriors a choice.

Seems to me the only reason Elune denied Tyrande’s actual choice for vengeance was so the plot could drop ‘By Our Own Hands’ into our lap and save Tyrande from her actual choice.

It’s bad writing. Elune is terrible. End of Story.

Imagine being Blizzards writing team which has been criticised for just how absolutely terrible WoWs storyline has gotten, and then forget in the very same expansion that you explained it that the arbiter has to choose where souls go. This means a lot of those nelfs probably wouldn’t be going into the winterqueens realm so elune let them die for nothing even without knowing the Maw situation. That’s just sad they forgot that.

Well, her main source of vengeance grew a conscious and is possibly back to pre BFA power levels

But wait… she’s the one who actually preserved the remnant of Sylvanas’s soul so the banshee princess fluffykins can save us all because they’re playing inter-dimensional 42nd quadrant checkers. That’s the same reason the Night Warrior was not allowed to kill Sylvanas because her good half is secretly working for Elune Manastorm.

Yes, the writing is truly abysmal this expansion.

Another spoiler is that Elune literally cried another Tear of Elune through Tyrande, but someone’s going to shout 'That’s Empowerment!’

To be fair, Thiernax was facing down an Old god who was destroying his planet slowly, a “choice” here would make no sense… and I presume Stonewright was facing down similar situations considering “Everything I did, I did for my people.”.

A dumb monster too. She lets the night elves burn to death and be slaughtered to help her sister and didn’t even know why the shadowlands is starved lol. That’s like writing code and committing it before you even compile it let alone test it.

I don’t understand how you work 40+ hours a week for a reputable game company, and you do your job so poorly a fan who plays the game can do it better than you.

It’s not like they don’t know they’re bad at it either, half the NF campaign is just mocking their lack of writing comprehension; the play to begin with, and when you’re leaving the stockades in Revendreth Moonberry even comments on the “dead parent” routine we just went through being an oversaturated trope…“lazy writing” as she so eloquently states it.

I have this quest waiting for me when I log in. I’m in no real hurry to do it. I think I might just grab a few cups of coffee, have a sandwich, binge watch some 20 year old sci fi TV show or another. Maybe spend all day listening to Spotify and smirking at the National News Headlines.

If I finish all that, maybe… just maybe… I’ll log in and do it.

Or maybe I’ll just take one look at it sitting there and NOPE out.

I actually kinda laughed, cause it sort of insinuates that I fund the theatre department in Ardenweald, makes sense with how many members of The Wild Hunt regular the theatre after work apparently…
