Night Elf fans will never stop caring.
Human lore in SL basically amounts to two Orc simps (Jaina and Anduin) and the ever impotent and inactive Bolvar as you way.
I guess the stuff with Uther was nice, so was Mograine father and son meeting but otherwise none of the other stuff for humans is all that fantastic either.
If Tyrande “has to choose between vengeance and healing” then why did Elune even give her the Night Warrior power in the first place?
Gee it’s almost like this plotline wasn’t planned out or something.
I don’t want … I don’t want to SEE!!!
We are the favorite children of the goddess but at what cost?!
#ichoosevengeance
Yea… only the overwhelming majority that is mathematically atleast 90%…
So? Still doesn’t change that the Night Elves were wiped out and sent to the maw. People were hopeful about there being some sort of rescue and revival for them so the Night Elves could have a future but instead they were obliterated, erased.
Also, is it just me or is every Nelf being meant for Ardenweald make them drastically less interesting?
What must they all love trees and flowers and Elune? One can’t get into engineering and war with a more secular spirit without still being sent to Midsommar’s Night Dream? None of them would be better suited to death metal and dismemberment? None of them?

Plus it’s known from Elegy that some other characters were burned, including children. But those, despite the existing possibility to depict the models, were never shown in the game after the souls were resqued.
Separately:
Dentaria Silverglade (depends - was alive, but depens on how succesful was the horde in stopping the evacuation to Azuremyst)
Overall, it’s just tedious to pull the things from the memory and copy-paste, but it feels needlessly lazy that you chose not to do it yourself.
And yes, I am sure there might be complaining “but are those relevant NPCs?” And you know, some of those stories are hella memorable (for some of those who played pre-Cata version / time at least). Like “that fruit that came from distant lands. Maybe even from Azeroth”, veangeance of Elune quest line, etc.

Everything Blizz has done to them this xpac has made them less interesting. BfA was just the gut punch, Shadowlands is the killing blow.
Whatever you wish to see.

I thought Night Elves weren’t very interesting for those exact reasons as early as Cataclysm which makes me wonder if you’re all just perpetually 4 expansions behind me
Like personally I’d be very annoyed if they said all Forsaken go to Maldraxxus. They certainly don’t look out of place there, that much is true, but some Forsaken just want to raise dogs or garden. I really don’t think those guys would be up for an eternity of Thunderdoming.
The more time goes on, the more I think the original plan to have just 3 covenants might’ve been a better idea.
Well, I can imagine a chance for the story of Selenis to be interesting. But “objectively”, when I look at the current stories, I am sure if would’ve been somehow ruined too.
(no pay off for the wisp wall used in Bastion - extra disappointment)

What I want to know is, why do we see Forsaken souls in the Shadowlands at all? Visually I mean. Shouldn’t they all have human souls?
The fact that they don’t has some interesting implications itself.
BfA actually had the opporunity to make them more interesting and give them a darker, militant persona, or use it as a chance to modernise them and integrate their nature/Elunite magic with technology.
But Blizzard being as braindead as it is, decided to screw said opportunities to give them ReNeWaL in FaErIe afterlife.
Let’s be real here though; Night Elves were the OG Weeb race so it makes sense that they’d go to the Weeb afterlife.
Before Shephiwoth the Blood Elf Paladin, before Narruto the Void Elf Monk, we had Lolgolas the Night Elf Hunter.
I was so disappointed to hear Astarii’s voice of a squealing schoolgirl, and I think it’s a general problem of how nuBlizz views most night elves (including pushing Tyrande there in the recent cinematic), and why they think Ardenweald is apt for them.
And just like that… The entire Night Warrior plotline lost all sorts of interest. If there has been any nails to put into this coffin. The story of the Shadowlands has destroyed any hope of an interesting development.
Tyrande is gonna choose Renewal; Sylvanas gonna get away with everything. Elune is a two-bit joke of a god who can’t even do half what a damn loa can do. At this rate, she may as well not exist.
As you were cheering on this process being inflicted upon the Night Elves, little did you know, it was helping to kill the game and ensure that the only real alternative is a Final Fantasy product.
Ironic.
My standing reasoning is because the plague more infects the soul than the body.
Obviously this isn’t the case for some undead seeing as we free their souls and they’re human. But I think the Forsaken, like the Worgen, are more made a different species in the most fundamental way possible.
But they can still wind up wherever at least. I like to imagine at least one of the Forsaken souls we see in Bastion is Force Commander Onslaught.
I am neither pro nor anti-weeb, I was simply stating facts.
