Elixir of Tongues Is Spit In The Face of OCE Players

Your inflammatory approach to getting what you want probably isn’t the best approach and is probably hurting peoples potential sympathy towards you.

It has everything to do with it.

RPers complained about an issue and Ion even jumped on the Q&A to address it.

Oceanic players complained about an issue and its radio silence since 2016.

My issue isnt the potion. Its how Blizzard communicates with its players and largely, from experience the communication is only with players if the problem concerns US players.

If youre outside that zone then bollocks to you!

You really don’t have any idea how spell effects work, apparently.

Are you seriously suggesting that something that takes an hour or two to knock out and patch into the game is somehow disrespectful to you on the basis that what you want hasn’t been added yet?

On the real, I get why OCE players are upset with Blizzard. Their forum has been blueless for the better part of two years.

But what you’re asserting in this thread is nonsense. You’re well within your rights to be upset about the lack of communication. Being upset about a potion being created and implemented for someone other than yourselves, however, is ridiculous.

Literally contradicting yourself here, dude. Seriously, re-evaluate what you’re whinging about here.

At least there’s the option of an OCE forum, most games wouldn’t bother.
Besides, that forum’s dead anyway. Can’t really blame the blues for not getting into it all that much.

Personally, I don’t see why they need one – seems like it dilutes their feedback, separates it from the rest of us. I could see them needing their own technical support section due to the differences in internet infrastructure in that part of the world, what with all the undersea cables. But other than that, I’ve never understood the point of it.

And people wonder why others don’t want to group with people from these realms…

Likely an artifact of when the “OCE” servers, when they existed at all, lived over in the US and they didn’t see any real point in shutting it down.
OCE guild still gets plenty of activity so maybe they figured they’d keep it around in case it picked back up at some point.

Go back and read what Ive been saying. I dont care that they made the potion. I care that within hours they were clamouring over them selves to make a potion because people were upset about something but have refused to do anything remotely similar for us.

Yeah ok, its harder to make a day night potion than it is a language potion but in all the years they have known this was an issue they could have done something about it or at the very least have spoken to us.

They have done neither.

I will admit, I probably havent done the best in explaining my self so I get why you think I care about the potion it self and not Blizzards handling of the situation.

So I will say it one last time

I DO NOT CARE THE POTION EXISTS!! I care that Blizzard treat us in the Oceanic region with complete disregard that they NEVER speak to us.

My issue lies with Blizzard being more than capable of addressing this problem but refuse to do anything about it and after all these years of nothing from them but seeing them so quickly jump to fix other issues you start to notice a pattern.

They only ever do anything if it effects the NA servers. Yes, there are more people there, I get this but there was enough of a playerbase in the Oceanic region that Blizzard decided we deserved our own servers, so we arent as insignificant as you might want to think we are.

If they can invest the resources to give us local servers then that would suggest that they could probably let one person work on a potion to fix our problem. But as I have said, it doesnt really effect US players so would Blizzard care? As long as the OCE players keep paying their sub Blizzard has done enough it would seem.

Your thread title is “Elixir of Tongues Is Spit In The Face of OCE Players,” so saying stuff like this:

Doesn’t really hold up, man.

You wanna talk about how Blizzard has a habit of ignoring the feedback from their OCE players and need to put in the effort to either change your time of day settings or create a potion that does it for you? Cool, do it. I support you.

But this? This isn’t that. This is a salt thread, and the way you’ve written it has made it one. You’ve taken a highly justifiable and worthy issue to discuss and framed it in such a way that you yourself are snubbing the people who wanted it.

Seriously, sit back and chew on how you approached this. What you’ve done here is not a good start. If it were me, I’d go back and rewrite the OP to focus on your grievance, and change the title too.

It’s hard to back you when you present your complaint this way.

We had our own day night cycle when we got local servers at the end of MoP. They changed it for no reason during Legion so the time zones matched the US servers but didnt tell us why and then have done nothing about it since.

The point of it is made apparent from this thread. Because this issue doenst effect NA players they are very quick to judge and act like its not a real issue because they dont see it.

But it does have the problem you said, our concerns are separated from the rest so easier to ignore.

I would be willing to bet that Ion and Ythisens and the rest have probably never even looked in the OCE forums.

It’s not a real issue though.

How do you know this would be easy. Inky black doesn’t turn day into night, it is an entirely different effect.

They cant extend the same courtesy to an entire region of the planet?

Do you have some numbers to back that up?

Seriously, if this was easy to do why would blizzard not do it. That makes no sense, they wouldn’t do this if it really was so easy. You go and write the code and see how easy it is.

It literally puts stars in the sky, makes the game darker and turns up all the lighting effects of torches and fires… thats very much turning day to night.

For which? The ease, or the large number of people who wanted it? Did you somehow miss the hellstorm that came about as a result of the addon being broken? And do you somehow believe that the ability to comprehend all racial languages wasn’t built into the game previously so that staff wouldn’t have to change characters to read chat?

I am pretty sure there is a third party graphic filter being used.

There are hell storms on these forums daily.

Guess you didnt see the OCE forums when they made the shift during Legion to mess up our time zones. There was a lot of outrage, Blizzard did nothing about it.

Oh, how silly of me, youre probably a US player so if it didnt happen to you it didnt happen right?
