Elite NPC Damage is Way Off (Plausible Evidence)

And now we have video proving the damage is right.

So I want to see what you dudes have to say now after going what… 0 for 16 on trying to claim blizzards values are wrong? You were very vocal and even rude before hand… What say you now that we have proof the numbers are right?

I want to see if you are as quick to apologize as you were to be rude and disrespectful with your conspiracy theories.

go back to bfa lmao

I agree, watching lvl 30s do level 40+ content like scarlet monastery and zul farak is something you’d never see back in current 04 vanilla… Fix and balance out the numbers.

Because the level cap was 60. No reason to stop at 30 to do it.

I understand there was a test done by Blizz on elite damage. But was this their only test?

I don’t recall dungeons being easy. However streamers are reporting that the dungeons in classic don’t require CC, and the tanks can actually use 2H weapons, no shield required: https://youtu.be/uggeK1JWWSI?t=1204

This changes the classic experience in a fundamental way. Mages for example, were almost always a sought-after DPS for dungeons because of sheep. And tanking with a 2H was very much the exception.

Another aspect of tough dungeons was careful handling of patrols. If this isn’t the case anymore, it removes a fundamental aspect of gameplay.

Uhh, did you even watch what you linked? He says that the damage on private servers was higher and he thought it was higher in Vanilla but is now disregarding his memory because it’s wrong.

Of course I watched it. To quote the streamer: “I remember this being a lot harder back when I played vanilla”.

The only reason the streamer is disregarding his memory is because Blizzard says they’ve done tests that prove elite damage is correct. I am asking whether more extensive testing was done than just the elite ogre test posted in this thread.

You can find period correct videos on youtube quite easily and do a number comparison yourself. The numbers are correct, I’d be willing to bet a lot of money on this.

No the streamer is disregarding his memory after people posted a ton of 2005 and 2004 videos showing old runs proving the damage is correct as it is in the beta. We have posted a slew of videos of this content in all of these threads. Go get them, view them yourself and stop spreading misinformation.

Because:

No one would stop at 30 and get full BiS for that level just to do a level 40 dungeon; they’d level up to 40 and do the dungeon at 40.

They are fine. You just remember incorrectly.

I wonder if people can even think for themselves. Somebody says this, and everybody jumps on the train without even knowing to what extent or how.
While it IS true, our memories can be off, faulty, or just non-existent, people are throwing this around like it’s’ going out of style.

Jebus. Some of these people may as well just start saying “No, I’m correct because you’re memory is wrong” to everything. Let’s make a meme out of it!

It’s being thrown around a lot because there’s a whole lot of people thinking they know what vanilla was like, then they reference how things were on private servers.

Blizzard has the 1.12 client. They know the values. People think the values are wrong, yet Blizzard consistently proves they aren’t.

If people would stop remembering things incorrectly and subsequently saying that Classic is wrong just because it’s not how they remember it, people wouldn’t have to say they remember incorrectly all the time.

they’re also twinked out in the best gear a capped 30 can lay their hands on and using that to gradually push further and further. And using builds built specifically to do this that you’d never see in a typical leveling party.

This is actually perfectly expected. And you see a similar result in those rare moments where you run with a former 19/29/39 etc Twink who has decided to move up in bracket and is basically soloing the instances since he’s typically got the gear and close to the stats of a character 7-10 levels higher than he is, especially if he made extensive use of quests with very large level banding (like if you’re REALLY careful it’s possible to complete a quest for a level 36 item in the 10-19 bracket but you have to have a empty xp bar and someone partied up to kill all the required enemy’s while you’re dead otherwise you’ll level out of the 19 bracket).

A player would’ve been 40+ by now just for the sheer amount of quests and content they’ve run to get that geared (there was no XP stop in classic, and making a X9 twink could be a bit of an art form to ration out your xp bar to get as much powerful quest gear and dungeon drops as possible without breaking out of your intended bracket).

They chose 1.12 because that’s as far back as they could find with the data on it.

Is it fix now ?
