I would like to hear ideas on how WoW can eliminate the Dungeon Finder Wait Times?
Thanks.
People need to play more tanks and more healers… but the wait time is minimal even for DPS.
They already did that, just run a follower dungeon.
There’s nothing Blizz could do. What needs to be done is the community needs to stop jumping down the throats of new tanks and healers who mess up.
You want faster queue times? Be nicer to those two and more people’ll roll them and things will improve.
Probably an incredibly unpopular opinion, but scrap the roles altogether and give every class some heals and defensives, and make combat encounters mechanic driven.
At the core it boils down to letting tanks and healers have fun.
- Change damage expression from HTs to core spenders for Tanks/Healers but everyone really.
- Remove the cantrip and trinket scaling NERF they put on Tanks and Healers asap.
- Don’t cater damage expression to bad players. Let tanks and healers do atleast 1/2 of what a DPS can do (at the high level). Stuff like the massive MW damage nerf was completely uncalled for.
With the exception of VDH, DF S3 and S4 were peak game designs with excellent trinkets/cantrips available for everyone. They have all but manic grieftorch’d the enjoyment.
In it’s current state S3 is not doing this and it kinda feels like they’re doubling down based on what I can see in the PTR.
I know everyone says they hated threat, but I actually had more fun tanking with it since I was trying to maximize TPS vs. a zugzug DPS-maxxer warlock in my guild.
They are never going to succeed at making tanks and healers more appealing to players who prefer the low pressure of dps classes, so the chances of eliminating these wait times are basically zero.
That does not work. They did it in GW2 and it made dungeons miserable. So miserable in fact that when they did add organised raids and such they added support, healer, and tank type roles. I can only imagine how awful raids would have been with the classes as they originally were.
Edit: Not to mention it sucks for those of us who prefer healing and support type roles. Not everyone likes playing DPS.

And the sheer irony is the fact that the people that complain the most about this are likely the ones that give folks the mindset of “I don’t want to tank/heal” due to their antics.
Easiest fix would be to get rid of LFD altogether. Let folks form their own groups and just go straight to the dungeon entrance. It worked for five years before they implemented the system.
Yea, I don’t wanna go back to the even longer wait times of spamming trade and whispering people in the hopes they’ll add you to their group. LFD is easily one of the best things added to the game.
Sometimes blizzard offers incentives to tanks and healers in the form of satchels that contain augment runes and what not. A big issue with tanking and healing I found is that you can do the job perfectly and nobody says anything. You make a simple mistake and suddenly you’re the worst tank/healer to ever exist. It’s a very thankless job.
12 billion subscribers and all of them queue when I need them to.
There’s really no incentive to run LFG dungeons outside of leveling. The gear is incredibly useless and everything dies so fast you don’t learn anything.
I agree. That’s also part of a problem. It feels that normal exists just for quests and lore at this point. Heroics are useful for the first week or two of an expansion but I feel those quickly fade out as people start doing M0s.
Oh, I said it was an easy fix. I didn’t say it was a smart one lol. The smart fix is making four friends and running with them nonstop like I do.
After a short time fill up the blanks with bots. Solved. No change to loot or anything.
