It tells me that you mistakenly believe the lightning build had better damage? You can go back and check the logs for Vault in 10.0.0 and 10.0.7. At mythic, where optimization matters, people were playing almost entirely fire unless the fight required AOE on big groups of adds like Eranog. Fire was 100% better on ST.
Also, outside of mythic, fire is significantly easier to execute for the average player.

The thing that would blow my mind if it wasn’t so expected was how quickly they jumped to completely rework Archon, and still tweak it to this day.
Where the holy hell are the Farseer changes to make it not absolute dumpstar garbage for Ele’s that don’t want to be lightning build (still with some forced LB because trash talent tree design)?
Edit: And the only reason why I care about Farseer changes is because I BY FAR prefer Lava Burst/Prim Wave/Earth Shock gameplay over lightning. I think the Farseer hero tree concept is stupid and would rather have a fire version of Stormbringer.
Please remove Icefury, everyone hates being forced to use it!

Or at least put it on a far branch of the tree away from everything else.
Forcing Primordial Wave on elemental shamans really did a number on us mentally.
I think we need to be a little more realistic on changes now due to the limited time we have now before TWW expansion is released, while I pray and hope we do get changes, I think really the best we can ask for now is smaller QoL improvements that would be easy to implement that won’t change much.
As sad as that sounds, Shamans all specs currently don’t look like much will be changing.

How about buffing IF to proc ele overload, or ele blast bonus? (sort of like 2pc S3/S4, sort of)
Even the optimistic Pepino is turning to the doom side. We are well and truly boned

I’m trying to be realistic now, I’ll be honest I was shocked the release date was so close, so if anything I’m sure during TWW we will get meaningful changes.

Would like to see shorter cd + multiple charges of stormbringer. I play ele in Rss and bgb and meatball spec works great because of the consistent damage and cleave without needing to cast. I would like to see the same given to lightning builds, ele could find a niche as the wizard that can staty mobile and deal cast-less spells.
Im not a technical guy, i dont knownthe details and i cant remember the of most spells in the game, but heres what i want from a Feel perspective.

I want Flame Shock to have a spread like Seed of Corruption. I like that mechanic and i think it would be less geographically limited.
-
Lightning is MIA and it should have some utility. Give it an aftershock debuff that works like Frostbolt. Both LB and Chain Lightning.
-
Frost bolt feels like a PVP tool. If thats what they want, fine. But right now it and Icefury feel bad.
-
Icefury should either
A. Not be a talent and be baseline
B. Be a talent and be something on par with Elemental Blast. Have it provide a debuff of some sort. But attaching its power to 4 frost shocks on a GCD sucks. It is on a GCD right? I never use it.
-
Focus our AoE a little more: searing, LMT, earthquake, chain Lightning. 75% are tacked to an area. Thats feels bad
-
In pvp, give them a reason to not want to train the blue. Give us something like Touch of Karma. Make it different. But something. Like, if you hit us we heal. Like earth shield but effective.
Please revert the change to elemental blast replacing earth shock. I strongly dislike how this is mandatory to take as elemental. It was a good test for a few patches, but overall it either needs to be reverted or baked in.
Elemental in raid must also be tuned very well to justify a raid spot. Please consider giving elemental (Or shamans in general) a more powerful, easily accessible raid buff.
Frankly I wanna see that be a choice node with some talent that gives earth shock an extra effect.
Earth shock may not hit as hard but the instant cast can be pretty useful if you pair it with surge of power
Less need for P-wave. It has far to much power the way it is that you have to take it to function. At that point its not a choice.

I would very much like the ability from Plunderstorm as either an ‘upgrade’ to or alternative to earthquake, Storm Archon.
Having it do a line to the target and then explode so we don’t have to aim it like in plunderstorm would be great, and having it rotate through the elements on each cast would be thematic to elemental’s identity.
Heck if you wanted to be really crazy, have it change to a certain element based on the last builder you cast, lightning bolt, lava burst, icefury, and some earth themed builder, too, like a rock blast or something (though I would also like a once over to make icefury a better spell to cast, maybe making it like fire mage’s scorch, where we can cast it on the move).
Have each element do a different minor effect, ice leaves a patch that slows, or a patch that slides like the ice that Sennarth leaves in Vault, Fire just gives and spreads fireshock, Lightning electrifies opponents like Static Overload from Ionar from Halls of lightning (it makes lightning arch off of them into the ground, and makes them have a small aoe that explodes after a bit), and earth has a knockdown, or increases damage taken for X amount of seconds.
I just think having something like that would be a great and flavorful way to upgrade earthquake the same way elemental blast is an upgrade to earthshock.
The removal of electrified shocks/flux melting node. I personally find both mechanics super unpleasant to play with (especially electrified shocks, having to reapply the debuff so often is so tedious)
Also stop letting warriors have better lightning animations than us!!

Stormstrike does phsyical damage while warrior will do stormstrik damage which is physical and nature. Shaman only gets nature damage from stormstrike from procs from talents down the tree.
I like’em both. Flux Melting duration is long enough to not completely screw up Ele buttons, and Electrified Shocks is a clutch pick vs melee cleaves in arena (cleave root).
it’s too bad that flux melting is so minimal an effect that it might as well do nothing
imo, if it were to stay, I’d like it just be a “LB damage increased by X% for Ysec”
