So is this dead? Looking at top parses and everything is just Storm Ele + Lightning Bolt/Chain Lightning–using Lava Burst only with Prim Wave/Ancestral Swiftness to cast more LB/CL. No weaving Lava Bursts for Master of the Elements or Icefury. Feels degenerate–suppose I can enable that Press and Hold Casting option. Is anyone running Elemental Blast either or Earth Shock only due to 4 set bonus, want more Maelstrom instances to extend buff uptime.
Not sure how removing Flash of Lightning will change things in 11.0.5. In my mind, weaving is more involved but apparently not worth the effort or even viable. Might be swapping to Enhance if this is it for Elemental…?

Earth shock is better than EB atm.
Flash is literally the whole reason we’re just Bolt bots. Flash of Light CDR from spamming LB/CL literally affects pretty much all of our offensive CDs, all of our defensives (Shift, SBT, AG), makes Wind Sear which is functionally an interrupt with a 5-7 second CD, and most of our CC/Utility. Once it’s axed this Lighting Build is dead.
I’ve always liked Earth Shock more than EB, thematically. I wish it could find its way over to enhance somehow one day.

It’s back in spades in 11.0.5. You’re gonna have so much stuff to track you’re gonna run out of screenspace.

Its hard for me to enjoy earth shock thematically when its not visually noticeable.
It being instant cast, is its main appeal to me.
I find it is noticeable on non-giant targets. Essentially a big electric shock and while it may seem underwhelming, it is a decent-quality animation.
ES animation is its big crit over the target - its pretty satisfying!

I turned off floating combat text a long time ago
It’s actually a pretty cool animation, but it washes out on big targets and you have to be kinda zoomed in to really appreciate it.
