I dont think PvPers like S2 unfortunately8
I voted for it, what some nobody in my eyes says about me is meaningless, just as I am to you.
I would vote S1 but without knowing more specifics in the S1 4 set buffs or changes I’m not going to hope Blizzard makes it great, especially when it was horrible in the first place.
I don’t want to see S2 because I hated the stringent gameplay loop or DPS loss, personal preference. That said Blizzard should just let us choose ANY set so there is less animosity, because let me tell you lots of people are showing their rear ends.
Would be great to know what the set bonuses are…i know “google it” but we should not have to if they took what, 1 min longer to make the post?
This is an unfortunate predicament. The overall feel of S2 set was really fun for both M+ and Raid at the time, and the current set is fun in a different way but imo way more niche and a bit lacking in terms of engagement. Lava Surge proc? Oh better hit fireball button. Don’t get me wrong its fun especially in M+… Just a bit boring after the novelty wears off. IMO the S2 rotation was way more compelling and had a fun rhythm to it that once mastered popped off.
I played like 2 weeks with the season 3 tier set and then dropped playing my shaman for the tier. It feels freaking horrible to play, I hate it so much.
And looks like I won’t be playing shaman again next tier at the rate this poll is going. How anyone finds the braindead play style fun is beyond me. Doesn’t even do good damage to make up for the lack of fun. Just feels horrible to play and does bad DPS.
Season 1 Is the way to go boys, its the best of both worlds!!!
Combined NA/EU vote:
S3 51%
S2 35%
S1 14%
Trend has not changed. Looks like Meatballs are back on the menu boys!
The PvPers for once shall do some good in this world and save us from the purists.
pick S2 S3 is terrible for mplus and not that much better for raid like if you pick season 3 tierset you are literally just making shaman again for another season one of the worst dps in the game since you will have zero aoe on demand
I just want to be able to use my Storm Ele again , don’t get me wrong S3 tier is solid, but I really dislike Tier Sets that really pigeon hole you into one play style regardless of preference.
The whole point of DF Talent Trees was to create flexibility, clearly Blizzard failed on this part, I just don’t think I could go another season like this.
S3 is the most fun but i could never vote for that, not because of the set but the spec need a big rework to be fun AND functional with it. S1 for me is the logical choice as i hate the immobile picket fence lightning build.
Hmm lovely, so rather than go with two solid sets where we we’re decent, people have decided to go with objectively one of the worst sets in the game right now. The current set is bad in raid, amongst the lowest on the charts consistently. It’s also bad in mythic plus, typically only beating out specs where those players have a clearly superior spec they could be playing like affliction lock. Sigh, looks like I’m gearing an alt for fated to not hold back my groups.
Season 3s aoe is the worst out of the 3 sets by far and it’s about on-par with single. Season 3 is more mobile than season 2, and with season 1 it depends what build you do since it’s very flexible.
Season 2 - locks you into lightning.
Season 3 - locks you into fire.
Season 1 - you had a choice.
The problem is - with season 1, Blizzard would have to make tuning changes. And no one trusts Blizzard to do this properly. They buff everything around Ele thus making ele literally an Aug Evoker - without the Aug.
s3 gameplay is trash. actively unfun
s2 was the best one, not the biggest fan of onlymeatballs.
The season 3 set requires Blizzard to make tuning changes too. Changes Blizzard has been completely unwilling to do this entire season.
While I personally preferred season 2 set, I voted for season 1 because having a choice is far superior to being locked into a certain talent build.
Thanks for posting that. I loathe EoGS and swapped to enhancement last season for the first time. EoGS was miserable in Shadowlands and still is. In my opinion, Icefury OR EoGS alone are tedious enough but I can’t stomach using both. It feels ultra clunky.
Fire this season (in M+), while having a rather simple rotation, awards good management of Liquid Magma Totem, Totemic Recall, and Surge of Power. Mastery of those three concepts leads to a M+ experience with no lulls. We aren’t hamstrung by mob placement, Primordial Wave CD (circa shadowlands → S1 DF), EQ placement, and even Flame shock spreading to a degree.
A lot of people are mentioning “lack of AoE”. This one was hard to stomach, but in the end its mostly a non-issue. I’m not at the top tier of M+, but my buddies play Beast Mastery and Havoc and I get destroyed on big pulls (first of Galakrond’s Fall, Everbloom Lashers, etc) However, my overall stays with them because they can’t compete consistently pack-to-pack due to either lack of target count or long(er) cooldowns.
This tier set debate is nuts though. We should be asking for systemic changes that would remove the need for 9 extra Lava Bursts from a tier set to make Prim Wave & DRE fill the Flameshock spreading gap that exists without it. A S1-esque tier set would be better for all if Fire had a little help mechanically in the talent tree.
Agreed. The tier set bonuses forcing you into certain builds and talents completely negated the flexibility the new talent system offered players.
I’m not denying Ele is worse off in mass AoE and basically prays for one DRE proc to pop off in a AoE pull, but I swear this whole “does no damage” thing is completely overblown.
I hold my own in the keys I’ve been trying to push by pugging, sure I’m not going to beat the DH on the big list pull but overall I do pretty good. That’s in fact why I usually like Ele, because it overall is pretty good. I think S1 was like that, S2 definitely was as overtime Ele would creep up instead of being a 3 min or bust class.
For me S3 set exemplifies this so well as I might not be “the best” but I do well for myself overall in M+. That is why I vote for it.
That all said, I mainly don’t want S2 because I hated the over reliance on having debuffs up and the strict sequencing. That’s partly why I’m voting for S3 too because I’d rather S2 not win. If I knew there would be a massive shift in voting from S2 to S1 then I might change my vote as well from S3 to S1.
Reminder that I don’t want to make people be forced with a set they don’t like, because I certainly would hate it. Hoping Blizzard just makes it possible to choose the bonus you want.
