It’s crazy that everyone know shamans especially Elemental shamans are squishy yet blizzard wants to turn a blind eye to it. They make Ret and Warriors noob proof by giving them 200k extra health, we wear mail yet we’re more squishy than most cloth wearers.
And to top it off they’re nerfing our ONE true defensive and Ancestral Guidance, smh get it together Blizzard.

To be fair, Shaman as a whole is too squishy

I will second that, we’re supposed to be second tier tanky, but Blizzard is just like eff reasoning

Being fairly new to Shaman the squishy surprised me.

Interesting. The long slow cast times make it more difficult. My Resto Shaman does not feel that squishy doing Mythic Plus 11s with 427 item level. I just starting playing elemental only for PVE for flightstones and I dont like how it feels. Slow or random chance for fast procs and complicated rotation in comparison shadow priest is way better healer off PVE dps spec. Lot harder changing specs with shaman then priest.

Tis pretty interesting … even my windwalker monk wearing leather seems hardier for sure …
I guess that the type of armor makes little to no difference anymore as far as damage reduction

Well their damage is low, their healing is nonexistant comparatively (against healer specs), their CC isn’t very good (hex breaks on damage pretty fast/lightning lasso stops your rotation completely + no maelstorm), and melee can break any movement CC… plus all the silence effects/lockouts and a lack of anti interrupt/silence options.
(glad trinket would be a nice solution - separate from current antiCC trinket - both should be equippable/on separate cooldowns and buff the damage trinkets to prevent people from always running both/depth)
LB/LvB needs like a 25-50% damage boost (LvB has a cooldown - it needs to feel powerful when it does go off given the prevalence of spell interrupts/lockouts + FS setup so the 2 second cast time is actually 2 sec + 1.5 sec GCD + manacost of FS) and the chain lightning bug needs to be fixed (isn’t triggering elemental overload correctly <5% chance irregardless of mastery rating/base 15% chance).
Earthshock (and other maelstorm consuming abilities) needs to be a maelstorm dump rather than a fixed cost and its damage needs to scale with how much maelstorm is consumed, providing a bonus if used at full maelstorm. It simply doesn’t do enough damage and prohibits a proper rotation trying to dump maelstorm before queuing up more LB/LvB/CL + whatever else you need to mix in (totems + cooldowns + heals)
Earthshock needs to do 50-100% more damage given the amount of setup time/resources it requires.
There’s a lot of tweaks the shaman class desperately needs to feel “smooth” and functional/competitive.

Not maelstorm
I’m sorry that was driving me crazy
Earth shock used to function as a maelstrom dump back in legion if I recall … flame shock had no cooldown also.
I prefer the fixed cost honestly. Makes rotations a little easier to control and you can control where the damage goes.
I think we need some more passive damage mitigation for sure, we used to have totems for this … but I don’t think we’re in need of a total overhaul of how our rotation works …
Another interesting proposition would be a way to instant cast healing surge in combat like enhancement does (more that just with natures swiftness)

Think of this though, if earthshock was a maelstorm dump that scaled with maelstorm consumed you could use it early/low maelstorm to trigger surge of power at anytime in rotation.
This may just be a PvP thing though, I don’t PvE so…
