Reroll horde and you can live the dream of having ele shams on your team while the other has 3 healadins rolling around.
I wish 3 healers were more common. Usually it’s just sweaty trash talking 8-9 warriors and mages.
3 pallies lol. I had an AV where I was the only pally.
Pretty sure they fixed the divine favor double crit.
Brb while the ele shaman blows someone up before I can even cast a flash of light.
They didn’t. You have to be spamming Shock as you get towards the end of your cast and be within range (20 yards). The two will land near simultaneously. Divine favor and Elemental Mastery are the same buff (no Mana cost, forced crit) with different flags (offensive vs defensive). They can be used the same way.
All the ally premades seem to be full of healers, if you pug then you get the healerless BGs and lose no matter what sometimes.
Both sides complain about what the other has in the way of shaman and paladin and quickly find out in TBC how over rated both really are. The grass is not greener its just different.
Horde complain about paladins, and really its a learn to play issue on their side just as its the same problem alliance side. Shaman are ridiculous because of batching, a glitch blizzard did fix in TBC because its game breaking and really should fix in classic because its game breaking… Most of the time the complaints about paladin come down to bad shaman, bad shaman, priests and mages not using offensive dispel or counterspell correctly. Paladin buffs are incredibly easy to peel and only powerful if you let them keep those buffs up.
most of these paladin complaints are again a learn to play issue.
And the defensive power of shamans is what makes them ridiculous too, 2 slows, cleanses, heals, stupid armor for casters, ghost wolf, AND ridic damage. If they were just glass canons wouldn’t be that big a deal.
If ally had shamans I could pretend to dispel buffs by whacking totems.
Both of those slows have a cooldown.
Cleanses? Only Poison Cleansing/Cure Poison is useful at all and Druids do it better with Abolish anyway.
If armor were a problem boomkins would be dominant. They aren’t. And as someone that has run an Ele in PvP without a shield… that armor is 100% necessary because Shaman are a bullet magnet.
Ghost wolf has an, at minimum, 1 second cast time and you spend 2 talent points to get it there.
Damage is the only thing you were actually accurate about. shaman fold under pressure. They have no reliable pushback protection unless they’re eating Crits and they have ONE spell school which encompasses 95% of their abilities AND their healing.
Stick a rogue or warrior on them that won’t get juked. They’re reduced to shocking every 5-6 seconds and/or autoattacks.
Or if you want to be cruel, stick a hunter pet on them that won’t crit very often and watch their talented 1.5 second chain lightning cast become a 4 second cast.
Dude. You’re clearly clueless, a ranged aoe snare is the single most effective group CC in the game. Don’t even try to give me crap about broken hunter fd/traps.
And you ignored the healing potential along with the damage. And no, passive aoe poison cleanses are more effective.
Earthbind is easily beaten by both frost trap with entrapment and frost nova. Although I’m glad someone else is mentioning that fd/trap is broken and should work 100% of the time instead of how often it fails. But there is a reason hunters and mages are the ones tasked with holding back graveyard respawn, and not shaman.
And yes, spell batching is the reason elemental shaman are so overpowered. Just another example of the laundry list of things wrong with spell batching, the worst mechanic in the entire game by leaps and bounds
I also wonder if Diablo 2 will have this insane #nochanges crowd while it is being developed.
“Hurr, if you don’t want 640 by 480 resolution, you don’t want diablo 2”
“Durp, if you want updated graphics, models, NET CODE, and all the standard things every game that has ever been remade has every gotten, you don’t want diablo 2”
“Bah! Durr! Drool! Release uber bosses and keys 10 years after release, like the original”
#nochanges is the most absurd stance I’ve ever seen a community take, and I hope Blizzard realizes how much they shouldn’t cater to that crowd when they release tbc.
Its better to get 2 crits on my reckadin. I will one shot them easier.
That’s existed up to wotlk.
Lol I think we have to worry more that they don’t pull a WC3 with it.
Who else watching Beastaf in the CDL???
You forgot three of the most powerful things they have. Purge, grounding totem, and earth shock.
No other class wrecks casters like shaman, and not only are they good at killing casters but they can if played well vaporize most melee.
Are shamans still able to get double crits with elemental mastery as a result of spell batching?
Was this possibl.e in vanilla too?
If this double critting with EM and spell batching was not present in vanilla it seems like a problem. Not a big problem, mind you, but just not authentic.
And? I don’t think there are many non-mages who would shed a tear.
bless you sir
