Was thinking about giving ele a shot in phase 2 . How are they in pvp, they got any good ruines
They’re “ok” in bgs, I would say less good for bloodmoon…
2 major issues with them:

Flame Shock and lava burst are not tied to the ele range talent, so their range sucks, and puts you way closer than you want to be as a ranged in this bursty a meta… That dramatically limits using lava burst usage.

the meta is so damn bursty in general, that it’s actually somewhat tough to hardcast for the ~4 seconds you need to do a lightning bolt->chain lightning combo… It makes them a bit slow for casting in blood mooon and can rob them of tags… in bgs, they should be doing better than I’ve been seeing them actually doing. Then again I’m a destro warlock main and I very rarely see other locks near the top of the bg charts. I’m sure a great ele is making it work, but the average joe battleground enjoyer I’d say ele is mid-low tier atm.

Your spells take 10 secs+ to cast if anything is on you. 20 yards range flameshock will always put you in a bad position, especially in this bursty meta.
If you can flame shock + lava burst someone, you win!
If you can’t, you lose!
Sums up the class right now.
This video is kinda misleading. He is showing a 5% proc chance instant lava burst that rarely happens and people not kicking/ silencing the casts.

Rarely happens? See this is the problem with a lot of people. They will never admit to there class being strong. You see spriest on fourms saying oh it’s rare my shadow death hits for 1k before the nerfs. Anyways it’s not as rare as you make it out to be the only good things is atleast it’s a cast.

If you focus more on lightning bolt and chain lightning youll often do better. No matter how you cut it, lava burst takes 4 seconds to utilize on anyone. On the other hand a chainlightning shock punish can be done in 1.5 seconds.
Bad or ambushed players die to lava burst
Yes 5% is low but in classic these numbers never seem right. Like my priest blackout proc happens way more than 10%
Very hard to get any hard cast off. The push back is insane if you can hide in a bush or behind a tree you will have a blast!! Get a hunter and pet on you or a rogue or shadow priest with 4 pets beating you to death its GG

I was on the ele hype train season 1, been 40 and playing ele and main tanking gnomer since 3rd day of phase 2 and… i gave it up for pvp, its just not that good, if you play way of the earth you’re tanky but oom in 30 sec and useless after that, if you go sham rage you’re bad in up close combat with only one shock cd and not tanky enough, switched enhance and never went back. Also that video is misleading, the guy gets 2 procs of a crappy rune within 30 sec which never happens, also the clip ends because hes already completely oom
