Elemental Shaman Rework Ideas

So after reading many of the threads and going over the hero less talent trees that have been given to our spec as options, I feel like I need to finally make a post about what I would change in the gameplay aspect and the talent trees for Elemental Shaman.

Overall Feedback of Talent Tree:

1.) The Shaman tree has too many spells that need to become baseline or removed in general.
2.) We have a lot of utility but that utility is niche and is underpowered compared to every other class in the game.
3.) ALL SHAMAN’S NEED TO GIVE A RAID BUFF
4.) We have too many double point options that aren’t really worth taking but still creates bloating in the tree.
5.) Ankh isn’t a defensive. Honestly this needs to be reworked into a battle rez at this point.

QOL Feedback

1.) Something needs to be looked at with the specs mastery and possibly moving away from a mastery forward stat to a possible crit/haste stat that we had back in WOTLK and CATA. If you want to stay with the the current Mastery Builds then a redesign of how spells interact should be looked at.

2.) Ascendance models must be updated. There are NPCs with better models then the players have.

3.) Our Elementals should be customizable like warlock pets, or given the options what we want them to look like.

4.) Spirit Wolf Model must be updated and be given more options!!!

5.) Uncap our AOE like most other classes.

Class Tree Feedback

1.) As I said before we have too many utility totems that aren’t played or used normally and should either be removed or become baseline. As We are the “Totem” Class.

2.) If you remove the totems from the class tree you have a even weaker class tree then before. The totems feel like they are there to be fillers for an incomplete tree.

3.) WHY IS EARTH ELEMENTAL NOT BASELINE?!? ALSO STILL A 5 MINUTE CD?!?! Come on Blizz. Now we know you just hate the class.

4.) Maelstrom Weapon and Flurry should be removed and instead made baseline for all Enhancement.

5.) Chain Lightning should be removed and made baseline to both Elemental and Enhancement.

6.) I mean seriously count the number of totem affiliated nodes and it’s mind boggling that this class tree was even released with how weak and incomplete it is.

Elemental Tree Feedback

1.) This tree has a split identity. You either go one path and be come the master of mediocre single target or take the other path and master the mediocre AOE spec. It has a duo personality and doesn’t play nice at all.

2.) With the introduction of Hero talents coming up in TWW this have been highlighted even more. As Farseer (Joke) is going to be your Lava Burst or Single Target Build vs your Stormbringer (questionable) as your Lightning or AOE Build.

3.) Icefury should be removed for the game, it doesn’t fit into the essence of Elemental. It’s a frost spell and it’s another button bloat to the already mini game we play with buffs and rotations. Frost shock could also go for this reasoning.

4.) Our Big Spender Elemental Blast feels like a wet noodle went we hit it. We have no big CD that can burst our damage or help us in anyway.

5.) Our Spec Tree is filled with too many options that do not synergize correctly. Fire vs Lightning vs Earthquake. If you want us to actually have options to choose they should be able to synergize better and prune this bloated tree.

6.) Primordial Wave is old and bland please remove it and move onto something else. We are tried of it.

Hero Talent Wishlist

1.) I personally would like the Hero talents to change the baseline spells for us giving us access to all the spells but in either a Fire or Lightning form. IE: When selected in Stormbringer it make Flame Shock and Lava Burst transform into Shock and Lightning Burst effectively doing the same damage but change the spell type from fire to nature so it plays better with the node choices and we wouldn’t have to included a fire spell in our rotation. Same for Farseer, Lightning Bolt and Stormkeeper become Flaming Bolt and Firemaster.

2.) I wouldn’t mind also removing the flame shock aspect for Lava Burst and let it become a regular Non crit vs Crit chance spell but with higher spell power.

Personally I dont mind Maelstorm in class tree if there was an option for caster to benefit from it other than melee hit. You know. After x healing cast your next is instant

Im down for removing it but imagine if resto / ele could actually do soemthing with it become a battlemage walk in with mace and board
