Which and why?
Orc for selfish PVP, Tauren for group support PVP.
Orc stun resist is better for personal survival, but doesn’t do jack for you peeling a pair of rogues off your healer, which War Stomp will help with.
That’s initially what I thought but man that War Stomp into Burst is brutal.
It is, no question, it’s just of limited use for elemental since ideally you won’t be in range to use it.
I think Orc wins this for a couple of reasons, specific to PVP.
Tauren are huge and every nitwit will target you first in group PVP. I’ve played two Tauren Warriors and a Tauren Druid to well over 100,000 HKs each and this is my experience.
The stun resist is very good. Rogues are a big part of Vanilla PVP and resisting a stun can win a fight outright.
Tauren do have more health and an aoe disorient which in clutch situations is amazing.
I feel that your main advantage as Tauren in Vanilla/BC is your melee hit box/range. This goes both ways unfortunately, but it means if you are are swing kiting you “should” do more damage all things being equal.
Orc because I can’t stand how damn big Tauren are.
I will warn you though, if you go Cow, you will be able to be hit from further away due to the hit box. Yes warstomp is amazing, but you are a huge target. The extra health is nice too though.
As a shaman who lacks cc to begin with, I’d opt for slightly higher health pool and stomp
Orc stun resist is one of the broken pvp racials in wow history. War stomp is nice if you can follow it up with something like an entangling roots, but vanilla shaman’s dont really have the kit to capitalize on it. Go orc, the racial will save ur butt a lot, especially against rogues who already give shamans a very hard time
For the OP yea…
I’m going to be the healer (shaman), so I’ll probably go orc so I can resist the rogues myself =P
