Just checked the blue post for new class tuning.
Elemental all damage reduced by 5%
Lightning Bolt damage reduced by 10%
I feel like Elemental actually needs a buff. I feel like Elemental gets beat by most classes that I’ve seen in Mythic + 10 and above mainly Hunters, Dks, Affliction and Demo Warlocks, and DH, but they seem to be on par with Ret, Mage, and Warrior. Probably not anymore after these nerfs. Forget B tier, we going to C tier.

Can’t help but notice how all the other classes have elaborate balancing changes then you get to Ele and it’s just a two line across the board nerf.
I assume it’s cumulative as well - so the LB nerf is really 15%.
I’ve just grown accustomed to shaman being the running joke of the devs. I’ll reserve total judgement until midnight release because this is the first expac in a decade I haven’t had beta access.
It’s weird I’m not sure what happened. We definitely had a dev that understood both Elemental and Enhancement very well (maybe separate devs not sure) as the changes made in s2 TWW were amazing. Even going into midnight the spec design for enhance is great overall and for ele it’s not far off from being good design just needs small things like flame shock back (not counting tuning).
But outside of the initial changes we’ve gotten nothing aside from small bug fixes and buffs/nerfs. Our class tree hasn’t been touched since it was reworked in very early alpha/beta.
I wish they’d give a reason for the nerf. Where exactly was ele overperforming to warrant it?
