of course any class played extremely well can at least participate in content. The overall is at least a good measure, comparatively to ALL situations, not just the one fight perfectly catered to a class. ST rules mythic raiding, and it is just sad when nearly every other class in my guild is simming around in the 1.4m+ ballpark, and I’m sitting in the 1.1m ballpark with similar gear.

Yeah, I can probably put up better numbers than some of them… but imagine the numbers if there was also another 300k damage? THAT is the sad part, ele always seems to have to work harder and be a better player just to even justify a spot. It doesn’t feel good, and does not make me want to play the game.

Oh, and all threw on some pvp weapons and a different trinket, and I can sim 300k higher as enh in the same exact gear… I have NEVER played this char as enhance in the 15 or so years as ele. First time I’ve seriously considered it.

They simply need to apply a 10-15ish% damage to the pure ST abilities tbh. Lava burst ,lightning bolt, flame shock, EB, ES

Given how the first parse on Sikran is an ele just because of an DRE insane luck. It would also be beneficial to have DRE be either less RNG or totally replaced by first ascendant.

The complaints now aren’t that Ele is a weak spec. It’s that people obviously loved it when it was broken.

Data are here, please look at sikran / ky’veza logs or simply look at boss damage. Ele is among if not the last in ST

Its was fine before it was “broken” and did not need these massive changes that cleary blizzard cant balance. Now we once again lack defensives and our ST is terriible.

It was not “fine as the gameplay” was degenerate BUT it’s stupid to have to trade gameplay for damage and defensives indeed.

The thing is, this rework was coming no matter what. There was no way in hell they would allow Ele to have FoL CDR one-button gameplay, double the defensive usage over Resto and Enhance, and a 5-second interrupt in addition to the short CD utility we had. But because of how they nerfed Farseer Fire builds during beta, they had to rework it if they wanted to remove FoL CDR. Ultimately, the rework gameplay-wise is good IMO, but the numbers are way off in a single target which spoils it.

Sure, but it is a fact that our single-target damage was hit substantially harder when its AoE (the thing that was broken) was lightly tapped. The spec isn’t dead and our AoE is banging, but you’re huffing glue if you think our single target is in a good spot. Again, this isn’t due to a direct nerf but from them fixing the Ascendance bug and not giving some comp for the 9% DPS loss. That last point is why people are up in arms about the balance; if they correctly tested things, we would have been in a fantastic spot. They toned down our AoE burst while not completely removing it so they can clearly do it.

And yet I have all the portals for this season and someone else does not, I’ve had them for over a month now. We won’t say WHHOO doesn’t have all their portals, but someone doesn’t. It’s ALMOST like secondary stats dont really matter. Again, crit and haste started off best for ele, I got that gear, I stuck with that gear. I clearly don’t need crafted items because I HAVE all my portals and get 8 10s done a week. I’ll give you another little tid bit, I also use Dragon Flight flasks! I’m just not a slave to the game. And yet somehow, I HAVE all my portals and some others don’t.

it’s certainly possible to go through portal 10s in suboptimal gear but you shouldn’t pretend as if correcting these things is a non-significant damage gain, because it is.

I don’t because I don’t care about m+ beyond getting vault slots for mythic track gear because I prefer raiding. Still doesn’t change you’re missing like 10%-15% of throughput from suboptimal gearing. But if you’re doing 10s already with the gear you have now, you get those piece and I think you’ll be killing it in keys and prob would do well in 12s and beyond.

Have you simmed the difference? Because I have. And on a stat hungry enhance shaman, we ran a sim with full haste mastery and full crit verse, about a 10% difference. It’s literally not worth chasing stats. Embellishments are what? 10% more? So, if I had perfect gear and was doing 2m dps, I’d gain 400k dps. Really insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

And 20% is the very top end of the spectrum. 12% is more realistic.

You don’t care about m+ but claim to understand the class. Ok bud.

I mean, you can still understand how a spec works in M+ if you’re not a title pusher. We’re quite literally fine in M+. Raid we’re beans compared to the bulk of specs unless theres cleave and one of the worst on pure single target. Pretty simple to understand.

You’re also a tourist Shaman so who literally cares about your opinion?

Is it an insane take? Any type of reward stops at lvl 10. If your 3 dps are doing over 1m dps and you’re not dying, it’s a timed key. EASILY. I do over 1M dps while not chasing secondary stats (actually have horrible ele stats) , while not crafting gear, while using DF flasks…
