It doesn’t scale, the stat buff is static. Also to answer your second question, it cycles thru the secondaries.
Okay, and what about last expansion crafts? Belt etc?
Have to craft new items, whole list of new gear names and materials. Everything is overpriced, so will spend well over 50k for 1 character. Best to wait till price come down unless you got tons of gold laying around
We can’t craft last expansion gear at 638ilvl at all?
Why would you be able to do this lmao
Do those stack? I have 2 of them but idk if the damage is doubled, the toolkit shows the same damage.
YES. I swear to god, Idk why people are freaking out over them, there’s such an insane mob mentality. Every. Single. Embelishment. Is an average of ~1% damage and they’re all VERY close to each other. If you want “bis”, it would be ascension or the gemlaser, OR duskweaves if you can maintain 75% uptime. However, you can just as easily not run them ever and you wouldn’t notice 99% of the time.
It does 2-3% with double lens but can do up to 10% in quick games. Very solid embellish
Because they killed my build by killing the embellishments from DF lol. Also 3.4% versatility from weapon grip for frostbolt build is like 50-60k on a frostbolt lol. If you can even get 10 stacks in a dampening game? I heard the stack falls after 30 seconds and it won’t stack passed 3-4 because it has a Proc time of 1 per minute rofl. 2-3% of a random stat is going to do jack all. It’s important to choose the right one and understand how they work. All of this information is very hard to find while the expansion is still fresh. The tooltips on the crafting order does not even say whether or not the weapon grip is 185 stat and stack to 10, I had to ask around to find out. It just says “highest secondary stat”. Does not say how much it attributes.
The fact they killed choker of shielding and binding of gesticulation, is crazy to me. It legit nerfed my 2s rdruid+frostbolt build by at least 5%. Especially when frostbolt was 12:1 intellect scaling in pvp in 11.0.2 and even higher now that it is getting buffed on Tuesday. Choker of shielding allowed me to yolo block so much, as it created a 360k in DF, now its legit gone. So no more yolo blocking. Which won many games lmfao. Actually cracked what they are doing to this game. I am glad I cancelled lol.
Because the new embellishments are absolute trash and they killed complete builds by destroying the old embellishments that took 2-3 seasons of queue’ing to find out what works best. S1 TWW is unplayable. At least S1 of DF was actually playable lmao. So glad I cancelled my subscription. It’s complete ick.
Different flavors of 1% sans Blue Silken took months of research?
I used onyx gems , adds more dps than my 2 set
That is not at all what I use lmfao, I used that with my fun build on like day 1 or 2 of the season to see how fun it was to do damage. Lmfao. I already stated what I used lol.
The game is dead right now anyways as nvidia broadcast issues make it unplayable. I am sure the 32 or 38% frostbolt buff on tuesday will outweigh not having choker of shielding or binding of gesticulation. Though, I do not want to spend hours playing or trying to fix nvidia broadcast when the meta is not really a casting meta. DKs have 2 grips now, like everything has more interrupts. It’s simply gross! FF cleaves everything as well as spellslinger. Not a fun meta for 2v2 at all!
Yolo blocking with choker of shielding was so fricking fun for me as frostbolt build. More fun than not having it, but having extra frostbolt damage would be lol.
Yolo blocking in high dampening games with choker was so fun for me lol. I had more fun with that in late s3 and s4, than I did in s1/s2 lol. I probably did not run it in s1/2 because yolo blocking was too risky to run choker, and frostbolt damage did not do enough damage to warrant yolo blocking or even running choker until later in the expansion. That is the main reason I say it took a few months to figure out what was optimal. The game meta did not mature/catch up. Then when it finally started to, they ruined it with the expansion drop. Except this expansion is unplayable right now compared to last expansion launch.
just use obs, what?
both of these are about as garbage as sporecloak post nerf
I don’t know what these are
Not for organized 2s, sub+frostbolt spec or rdruid+frostbolt. It allowed me to yolo block and still pump with frostbolt deep into dampening. Plus intellect was like 12:1 intellect scaling for frostbolt in 11.02. The belt was BiS. Not sure what you even run now, as nothing comes close to giving 3000 primary stat on proc. Which would be its 639 ilvl equivalent.
I was the only mage who ran that neck. I was also the highest rated frostbolt mage in 2s for every season, so I would know. I also did not play with anyone decent to push rating in any season, nor do I ever. Come back when you have 20,000 hours as frostbolt and are not listening to a rank 1 regurgitating the same information on what works for them. I am not a Rank 1. They do not apply to me.
When there are different methods to play a game, the game should not be balanced around those points of views only. It has absolutely killed WoW for me this expansion. I have never seen it this bad. Everything is horribly tuned. I have 20,000 hours on frostbolt build, that is a fun build to play for me. Yes, frostbolt maybe better than it was last expansion, but its no longer as fun as it was for me in S4.
It was not fun in DF because of the damage, but because I enjoyed yolo blocking with Choker of Shielding, and carrying my teammates, holding CDs for setup. I play a very EU style, not US style.
I am not a Rank 1 player, I could care less about pushing rating. I care more about Clutch 2v1s. Being able to yolo block to carry my team mates while they reset etc. Something that is overlooked when they are tuning the game for the best of best of players, not for what is the most fun to play lol. I am sure that is why ARPGS are they way they are too today. They are tuning them for the best of players, i.e. pushing ladder, not for what is the most fun to play for your average player lol.
I am using OBS. Broadcast is just a tool to stream with. Has camera blurring/panning, as well as the best mic noise reduction in the industry. All other tools cost $8/mo or more.
Sounds like you just don’t like WoW dude
I love organized 2s and it was playable for all of Dragonflight in fact its playable almost every expansion and an upgrade from the previous season on any expansion launch as far as how fun it can be. Though DF S4 Frostbolt is probably A or S tier as far as fun goes. So I am not surprised they were easily able to make it more unfun lol. Like its still playable, but its probably C tier in terms of “fun”. Right around where it was for “fun” back in S1 of DF lol. The fact S1 frostbolt of TWW is a downgrade from S4 of DF frostbolt in terms of “fun” is troublesome. As S4 of DF was clearly S tier for frostbolt “fun”, though maybe only C or B for viability. As almost every expansion in history, S1 has always been an upgrade of the previous system for frostbolt 2v2 spec in terms of it being fun or not. This is the first expansion in a long time where frostbolt 2v2 spec is not as fun as it was the last season of the previous expansion. Mainly due to embellishments but also due to spellslinger randomly breaking CC. At least, we are not forced to play Glacial or Ice Lance going into the next expansion. Something I dig a lot. Though even in those expansions where we were forced to play Glacial or Ice Lance, I still played Frostbolt because it was more fun. This is the first expansion in a long time where it is less fun than the previous expansions best frostbolt play. This change is worse than the Wotlk>Cata change we saw for frostbolt. Like you can still yolo block, but you no longer have the safety net of choker of shielding later in the game. Also holding ice block is now harder too without the choker lol. Nor do you have the 3000 intellect proc from the belt. Which was the 2nd best BiS for Yolo 2v1s as frostbolt build. Not saying choker is the most viable for pushing rating, but it certainly is the most fun for dampening games as frostbolt+rdruid build lol.
That is simply not fun for me. What we are talking about taking a frostbolt build from being fun in S3/S4 of DF to taking it to a state that is less fun or equivalent to S1 DF. The game should get more fun, not less lol. I did not pay to play a less fun game lol. Once frostbolt did enough damage, which was not until late s3, and all of s4, yolo blocking or saving block by using choker of shielding became super viable and almost no mages know that or realize that, because almost no mages play rated 2s at a high level with frostbolt build lol. It was the most fun play DF saw in its entirety. The only thing that comes close to it for frostbolt build is SLs with a few PvE pieces at 50%+ haste before they nerfed Ice Form to 17 seconds instead of 34 seconds. Mind you, ice form would still fun and possibly viable right now if it was not 17 seconds and utter trash to run.
They keep killing the most fun components of the game every expansion and adding very few that are fun lol. When they do add them, they are nerfed to the ground or simply removed by next the expansion lol.
No one wants to play Rated BGs, its the most unfun mode. No one is going to be able to carry an entire RBG team unless you are someone like aluneth master, but aluneth master is not optimized for arena and has even said he hates arena lol. I would play RBGs and carry teams but I am optimized for Rated 2s frostbolt spec only! If I wanted to Q 6-8 player rated games and carry my team, I would have to rebind almost every ability and optimize for that and forget about the game mode I love best. I do not have enough keybindings to do that. I am already bind capped to ever think about a 6-8 player mode. So much is out of your control by playing with a bunch of other people unless you specifically optimize for that mode only. Optimizing for RGBs while still remaining optimized for rated 2s/3s, is something there is way too much button bloat for currently. Unless you switch to focus 123, a compromise I am not willing to make as binding for arena 123 for poly, cs, ss, dc, ice nova, super nova and regular versions of the spells is at least 5% more superior than using focus before casting those respective spells.
I really miss choker of shielding and my belt, as frostbolt is 12:1 intellect scaling in PvP only, or at least was in 11.0.2 and nothing comes close to primary stat in terms of damage for frostbolt build, aside from versatility. Which maybe better now that frostbolt is doing 1.5M/each and primary stat did not increase much in other places as we lost the belt lol. Weapon grip is an interesting theory atm, but I’ve not found information on how fast it decays, just that you can get 3700 versatility if you have all 10 stacks with it, using it on mainhand and offhand. Would require to PvE and craft 636 instead of 639 weapons though which is negligable especially if you are gaining 3700 verse on longer games. No guarantees of that though, I heard the proc rate is 1 per minute and the decay is 30 seconds, making it impossible to get all stacks, unless you run the embelishment on 2 items and get lucky procs. Which I am interested in testing, just to find out what its like. If its possible, I might make a come back to 2v2. Gonna test it tonight actually lol. Finding information on embellishments the first week of expansion has been so taxing lol. That and not having nvidia broadcast working lol. Ugh.
They should just embrace gear differences and make the game like it was in Vanilla, where in order to get the best gear in PvP, you have to PvE lol. That way, no one can roast you when you get beat, because there are differences in gear/skills/classes and that is what makes the most epic skill based fights. Skill is not about perfect repolys, its about gear differences and winning in a disadvantage lol. MMOs should not be in esports, I rather have epic fights in AV and epic dueling against players who have more gear, than everyone being normalized, and devs working their hearts out to balance the game lol. As some of those fights have a chance to be way harder and more rewarding than anything an esports environment could provide lol. Which we saw in Wrath and Vanilla when frostmages would solo entire teams of 1800 players as a Rank 1 in S6/S7 or in Vanilla or other expansions in different instances. Actually Wrath and Vanilla are the few expansions that provided adrenalin during play, because there were gear differences and the game was imbalanced, so using skill was a requirement to win in these disadvantages lol. Now everything is just about trading cooldowns, everyone has the same gear and its completely scripted lol.
I use to think for a long time esports were good and everyone should have the same gear, but now after playing this game long enough, I’ve realized that is not the case and people like asmondgold who have 40,000 hours compared to my 20,000 in this game, have a very valid point, even if they do not PvP at the highest level. Esports have no place in this game lol, especially if you want the most challenging, rewarding and hard pvp encounters possibly available.
Personally, I think 6-8 player RBGs have the potential to have the highest level of play, but I am not willing to make the sacrifice and drop my 2v2 binds to pick up 6-8 player modes lol. Though, I think to get there, they have to introduce gear differences like they had in Vanilla/Wrath and stop normalizing PvP gear lol. Like esports have no place in PvP for an mmo.
Edit: tested the weapon grip, its only 1850 verse, and 2 just increases the chance of it procc’ing. You also get a 10 stack right off the bat.
So frostbolt scaling changed a little bit in PvP compared to 11.0.2, so I guess its good there is no belt. It was around 12:1 intellect per point of damage in 11.0.2 now its:
8454 intellect(honor badge on use) = 47869 to frostbolt damage with icy, naked and full stacks. 1:5.6 ratio. I think I was using 3% arcane intellect talent … Inspired Intellect. Woops. Not a big deal though.
8454 intellect(honor badge on use) = 26229 to Frostbolt damage without icy, naked 1:3.1 ratio. I think I was using 3% arcane intellect talent … Inspired Intellect. Woops. Not a big deal though.
Hmmm it’s 2-3% on my lock with just one. On hunter I have 2 and it’s like 2.5-4%. Hitting around 125k with one and 250k with 2. AFAIK, having multiple gems doesn’t increase the damage, only thing that changes is the damage type can change if you have multiple gems of different types. Also, it doesn’t seem like the damage type matters/not affected by modifiers.
Also, Bloodstone gem does not proc it in addition to Blasphemite.
How do you delete a thread
?
The OP did buy a socket and slap a gem in his gear then absent any reason to know it in game the devs said that gem isn’t a gem. Sockets cost too much honor and usually the first socket you get is the precog or reduced damage in CC gem so to find out after you have dumped this much money and honor into an item that the gem isn’t a gem is absurd. I am not sure if it is an oversite but crafting especially early in an expansion is expensive and considering the number of games required to farm 15000 honor to get a gem slot telling a player the tooltip doesn’t do what it says it does so go farm another 15k to make it work is ridiculous.
