Hi,
I’ve recently come back to play a Shaman after many years and again realized how weak they are compared to other classes in many situations.
Now before you say duels don’t matter, I get it… but losing against under geared Shadow Priests and monks are not exactly a motivation to keep playing. I understand we’re a bit weak and have never been known to be a strong class in duels, but am I doing something wrong here? Even if there is a way to win I feel like it’s a hell of a lot more difficult for me to win/outplay.
If any other Ele Shamans have any tips for dueling specific classes that would be great. Would love to have some insight from some of the more experienced players.
Thanks.
You must be doing something wrong because I do pretty damn good as ele in duels.
Hell just today some rogue stealth jumped me during world questing. He had 290k hp, I have 207k.
Won that duel. Even after his health jumped to whatever percent instead of dying.
Monks are currently really damn good at pvp but when I get stuck against one with my kites it’s just an endless duel that I end up fleeing to avoid dying lol.
Shadow is one of the match ups you should be able to best
A lot of stuff tho is just nonsense like dks/ww/destro who just rotate immunities, have a zoo of pets or 4 cc drs and need a 3s window to 2 shot you lol.
A shadow priest wont be able to rot you if you have swelling waves and they dont have enough burst to kill you in a cc rotation.
And I’ve come to learn that primal Ele with badge can carry you in duels, mine can crit for 35k
Surge of power is necessary vs fury wars
Have icefury or echo for if you get kicked
Totem mastery is a necessity in every match up for 1m/s

Both elementals are great imo. Earth Ele is always forgotten but still the goat even if the 40% DR is on a 5 minute cooldown xd
Ele is actually really good at dueling. Sure, you’ll lose against some of the truly broken 1v1 classes like dks…but so does everyone else.
