Elemental armor sets

I will try not to be negative. Does anyone like the looks of the current armor sets? Can anyone explain to me the thinking in using this particular style. I don’t even look like a shaman when I use one of the two armor sets I unlocked in this expansion. I look like some sort of spiky foot soldier or some skull embroidered foot soldier. I don’t see how they went from that peacock style shaman armor set in legion to this… I like the peacock armor better but that is just my opinion. Does ANYONE like the current armor sets and why.

This is an issue that comes with the loss of tier gear, because for whatever reason Blizz decided that no tier gear also means no class specific mogs.

So we’ve gone from Legion where class identity was heavily focused upon to BfA where it seems to have swung the opposite way.

You’re not alone, having one set of appearances for each armour type is horrendous and quite frankly pretty lazy. But it is what we have, so seemingly for the remainder of this expac at least we’re stuck with mages and warlocks sharing the same appearances, warriors and DKs sharing the same appearances, hunters and shaman sharing appearances etc.

Less sets, less time and money needed on design, faster content push.

The old Blizzard would have put love and care into the sets, brining identity and unique design to them… to make other classes go “Damn that shaman armor is delicious”.

Uldir sets where… Not… Umm. Not catered to my tastes. Maybe someone out there wanted them. I was not one of them.

BoD… The mail set compared to the others is pretty dissapointing, doesn’t feel like a shaman set. One may argue it looks hunter-esque but, I think it was just a horrible amalgamation of stuff tossed together to fit the “Death” theme.

We had enough “troll vodoo” like sets already. Expand it… make some Orcish sets… Dwarven sets… So many other races to make a set based on but we still stick to troll. Kinda over it. So much potential … So much waste because of how Blizzard is just not the company we use to love anymore.

They wanted to make it so you feel like you’re getting gear from the raid, not specific class sets.

Ie. You raid a Troll capital, you’re likely to find Troll gear lying around, and thus you look like a Troll.

You do a Warfront, well, you put on your factions War gear to lead the charge.

I get why they want to do this. On paper it’s alright, and it’s fun. You get gear for what the raid aesthetic is instead of your class. You currently have 22 (I think) class sets that you can choose from, and several re-colors for every set. In the case of Legion you have different models for Mythic raids. So you really have something like 25 different shaman sets that you can choose from.

They wanted to change it up so now you get the aesthetic from the part of the world you’re in.

But lets be real. This is Blizz’ way of saying “We’re too lazy or aren’t creative enough to design more class sets.” This way they can just make 4 sets and be done with it; 8 if they want to separate the factions still.

Ion basically said “This will be the 22+ take on the class fantasy. They’re running out of ideas for the classes. The first 10 were great, and after that you get some inspiration here and there, but you can only do flaming shoulders for mages so much.”

Which is a cool idea, my only real problem with the implementation is that the two aren’t mutually exclusive in my eyes. They could have just as easily started to draw inspiration from the raids while continuing to provide class specific sets.

Which really means that the only logical explanation is:

I personally don’t like the class theme sets. I grew tired of earth fire and lightning. I’d like more plain, generic sets in the vein of quest rewards or vanilla greens. I hate fully covered in monster parts hunter sets too… I feel mail in general gets screwed over.

The mythic set version of the new raid look cool badass, to be like a drustvar deathtaker shaman that use old magic and bones.

Beside that, the rest of bfa raid/pvp set look stupid on shaman.

An elemental shaman with lightening sparks coming out of his armor would be super cool…

I blame activision. Such a trash gaming company. Wish blizzard would bail on that sinking ship

Im glad they did it. They need to get away from everyone being the HERO of ALL HEROES theme they had there for awhile and go back to everyone just being a soldier in your faction of choice. I think armor specific sets, not class sets help reinforce that.

That said I wont be using a single set on any toon.

There’s a few sets like that

Which one and where do I get it?
