Ele vs Enhance?

I really like both dps specs and am having a tough choice deciding which one to main spec. I’m leaning towards elemental but it feels like melee eats me alive whenever I try to pvp. Though that may just be because I’m not level capped.

I really like both too. With elemental PVP you have to make use of all your tool kit when they get in close. Thunderstorm, hex, totems, slows. Enhancement you can stand and bang, lol. Tough choice for sure! Right now I’m sticking with elemental but I do have the doom winds leggo I want to try as well.

Yeah. I tried to wpvp against a fury warrior 2 levels below me and got destroyed. Totems and slows didn’t matter since he was talented for 2x charge and had bounding leap. Never was able to get hex off between his pummel and shout.

You need to stun him with either cap totem or the primal earth Ele stun and then hex him. Otherwise you are not getting a hex off against melee.

Yeah sadly thats the thing, melee classes have more than 1 gap closer and shamans cant counter this. If you thunderstorm they do a gap closer, stun them via lasso/totem and they can break it with trinket and then they can kick/disrupt hex.

You need to get lucky and kit them around and spam lasso every time it comes off CD.

Haha, as enh shamans run at you with ghostwolf to try to close the gap!

Lmao true ok maybe not every class

That’s when you just pop Ascendance and laugh at their false sense of security.

I am not saying Enhance has near the gap closing potential as others, but at lease against slows Enhance is slightly better off.

Feral Lunge should honestly be baseline or on a different utility row, and Ele/resto need Gust of Wind back to act as a soft counter to get away from enemies.

It’s hard out there right now for just about every caster, it’s the nature of the beast early in expansions that melee kinda runs wild.

If you’re interested in pvp, I would recommend Ele as it’s a bit more versatile. Enhance is a very all in spec focused around ascendance.

Also the only thing really propping Enhance shamans up at the moment is their healing potency, and if that gets nerfed the class is going to take a major hit in viability. For whatever reason, enhancement shamans have been left behind in the defensives dept.

It’s a shame, because enhance is really fun to play right now, pvp shortcomings aside.

Problem with that is you’ll DR lasso which is most of your damage while getting trained. The ele conundrum.

It is what it is … if we hex them we can heal up and reset the fight .

just need to hope a random teammate doesn’t break your hex >:C

I play elemental and im fully geared. I dont have a problem with most 1v1’s. The odd exception are UH dk’s, and Rogues. Those just seem like theyre going to be losses. Windwalker monks are probably about 60/40 in the monk favor but its possible to win.
