Ele Shaman or Hunter to main?

I like both classes aesthetics, rotation and stuff like that. Wich is funnier to be main in your personal opinion? Help me decide if possible (Only PVE, general PVE content)

Hunter can be any of the 2 ranged specs

Ele shaman has the best spell sound effects in the game imo. Go with that.

I’ve just recently started playing one, so I’m an ele stan at the moment

Hunter if you want to be “selfish”, and Shaman if you want to be the utility boy.

Hunter is definitely flavor of the month right now. BM puts out good damage for being pretty easy.

Ele is pretty fun and obviously looks awesome shooting lava burst and chain lightning but it’s damage is pretty mid compared to Hunter.

Ele is cool, but the damage isn’t amazing. And in M+ the preferred legendary can be annoying.

Hunter as stated are relatively easy on both ranged specs. MM pumps and BM gives you easy rotation and freedom.

Ele in dragonflight is looking pretty fun.

I like hunter because it’s the only physical ranged in the game. Plus I can melee if I really wanted to.

Now if any other class got a bow spec, I would switch.

I like ele shammies more than hunters. But I also think that’s because out of the two current mail wearers, shammies get the better transmog.

Plus elemental spells are cool.

I have one shaman and multiple hunters. Nothing against shamans because I enjoy playing it, but I love hunters.
You can go with a theme and tame only fire pets, cats, wolves, mech pets, undead pets etc, or just go out and make it a goal to tame all of the pets you think are cool. You can also have two pets out at a time when you are BM, and use feign death for yourself and your pets if you bite off more than you can chew at any point. I enjoy the hunter theme quite a lot myself. The biggest con to hunters is the gear though, good looking mail options are not very good, to me.
Shaman look cool, their magic is cool, I’m not great at the totems though, but I do have a DiD shaman using a fire theme and I enjoy it quite a bit, although not as much as mage.
Good luck deciding!!

It’ll be funny when you try to get in dungeons as a Ele shaman. Otherwise hunter is the funniest, nothing says Lol like throwing out a binding shot in sanguine.

I presume that in questing content and stuff probably ele will be a bit more clunky than hunter but, I’m realizing that 99% of your real valid time farming gear you will be in instanced groups

Lmao can second this tried getting into ele shaman damage was so awful I just abandoned her

Honestly as a newer player, I’d pick hunter. It’s easier.

They both have good utility.

Depends on what your focus is.

What utility does a Hunter bring?
And whatever it is - it pales in comparison.

When I’m playing my Hunter, 99% of the time I’m focused on how I do more DPS, and how I survive.
When I play my Shaman, I’m actively looking to do things like heal a party member, keeping the Shield up on my tank, dropping totems, etc.

Hell, going into DF, Shamans are getting so much utility Blizzard have even said they’re going to have to tone it down because their tree was so much more value than every other class.

Hunter is one of the best utility classes in the game lol

In what way?

Misdirect, dispel/soothe, bunch of snares and aoe stuns, traps, lust, pet utilty, and aspect of turtle can be used to negate a bunch of mechanics like some tank soaking mechanics. beast fear but that’s niche.

Pet utility is like mortal strike effect, another snare, offtanking capabilities in emergency, etc.
