I’m not sure if this has been addressed but I have a small suggestion that would be a nice QoL change for ele shaman. Ele can funnel more single target output when there are 4 to 5 targets but the way lightening rod works is that it is applied to the target you either EB/ES/tempest whereas EQ applies it intelligently to either your target or if it already has it applied, it applies it to a target with the least amount of time left on LR or if it doesn’t have it at all. so for maximizing output you have to select a new target without LR with EB/tempest. it’s a small thing but this encourages sending your ST spender at targets other than your prio target to maximize the number of lightening rods and if you truly want to maximize your ST you have to sacrifice putting up extra LR so you can dump all your EB damage into your prio. if LR got applied intelligently just like EQ does but with everything that applies it to only your target. this way you can truly funnel into a target with all of your EB and not get punished for overall output as well as annoying having to click or tab a new target that doesn’t have LR on it. I feel like the damage of EB should be significantly higher too because our ST is feeling very weak on PTR right now and after the most recent nerfs, our overall is feeling pretty undertuned.
shaman is also sadly pretty squishy and at this point is looking like a shelf class for s3 which is too bad because it was feeling really fun and it feels like the fun part is gone. i’d prefer the constant asc procs and a nerf to asc damage, this way we could have a pretty regular way to apply flameshock which right now is pretty limited and feels very awkward. anyhow, just some thoughts. there’s many other things people have to say about ele. maybe an extra stack of astral guidance? I feel like there’s a bunch of classes that are feeling like they’re missing another defensive for high keys and it would really help to mix things up.

I more or less mained Ele from original Classic until the end of DF when they REMOVED Windspeaker’s Lava Resurgence, as well as basically FORCING us to play lightning AND fire simultaneously. They also made visual “improvements,” which in my opinion somewhow look worse, but tbf, I do have an official autism diagnosis, and I’ve included requests for optional spell recolors, even if they are client-side only, in basically a dozen different posts now.
Also, with regards to “tankiness,” people (myself included) keep asking for a tank spec in Retail, which would by “default” add more “tankiness” to the class as a whole, at least in the “class” tree. My personal take though is PLEASE, DO NOT, DO WHAT YOU DID IN SOD! In addition to Retail needing options for two-handed Shaman back, a tank spec NEEDS, NEW, earth-based abilities, not just ghost wolves and arguably the worst addition to Shaman ever, at least in my opinion, Lava Lash…

so you played shaman the entire time from Classic up to Dragonflight, for all those years, during which there was no split between “lightning” and “fire” builds for shaman… then they split it in Dragonflight, then realized it was a mistake one expansion later and removed the split in TWW. And that made you quit? Lmao
TBF, I first “quit” Shaman when they added Stormkeeper. That was when I first mained Arcane Mage, became 3rd best in the world according to RIO, without even “trying,” just playing the game for fun because Titanforging actually provided a reason to do so, unlike now, where you’re basically “limited” to just however many dungeons you need for cap, as well as basically only Mythic raids, since the Heroic version stops providing upgrades after a while when there’s again, no Titanforging. I also played Guardian Druid during BFA, and again, same story, made it to third best in the world according to RIO, for same reason.
I picked Shaman back up in Shadowlands, because they added Windspeaker’s Lava Resurgence, got 98 parses, but then they removed WLR in DF, and again, they “downgraded” the visuals, so I made an Evoker, which I played for a couple weeks, but now I’m at the limiting point again of just playing a set amount of dungeons each week, which I’m not even incentivized to do, because Ghosts of K’aresh is coming out August 5th, and since Blizz seems to be ignoring all feedback anyways, (as usual) they’ll probably ignore the Evoker feedback I provided too…
