Ele shaman is unimaginably bad in P5, needs MASSIVE buffs

I don’t have any data but I’d bet a decent chunk of players only invested time in SoD in the first place because there was downtime in retail DF

We literally had a SoD “dev” say hey we can’t give 2 hand enhance a second attack because it might be too powerful in PvP. Disregarding the fact that back to back windfury procs can already happen given that we have 50% + 30% attack speed with two handers due to runes and the windfury icd still back to back consumable after an SS.

But the might be too powerful in PvP made me die laughing , like okay where was that logic when:

  • you introduced frenzied regen to be abusable by boomkins
  • the insane dps when changing dot damage values in P2 to make them a death sentence
  • how ridiculously powerful introducing burn was with combination of surge of power for ele
  • literal 40 energy mutilates and the backstabpocalypse at 60 both having players die in a single CHEAP SHOT
  • when you originally made way of earth day 1 I knew it would be abusable and broken

Surely they didn’t THINK about PvP balance introducing these things. These devs are absolute clowns, that just say things that are incongruent with the reality of sod.

There isn’t any point for balancing in PvP for SoD now, nobody plays because you never thought about PvP to begin with.

Actually one more addition, the worst part is, this is the TEST SERVER for classic plus. So do some actual testing and make changes.

  • make changes to for example let rets do actual good pve dps not built around a gimmick like seal twisting. Make their seals ACTUALLY proc off their special abilities, how is that not even a thing. Or ferals forced to buy a catnip consumable, just give them a cat frenzy cooldown, what is this moronic idea.

  • make actual design changes to the world buff meta which clearly FAVORS melee and forces you to OVERBUFF CASTERS which ruin PvP and overworld balance

If it breaks the balance , WHO CARES. This is the time to test things. You already drove off most of your player base anyways with delayed content, bad balancing, and turning the game into a stratified mess at the end game with 19 million difficulty levels. Atleast do something right before you absolutely fumble the ball for the future of an actual classic+

mans never told a lie in his life. “well AoEing things down isn’t in the spirit of classic so we don’t want warriors to get AoE threat generating abilities”

edit to add: of course i failed to mention (like you failed to mention) that i died very very quickly and diddnt kill anyone.

Its because the power surge proc rate is already too low. But they can’t and wont adjust it on its own. They will introduce stuff like Burn, Riptide being able to proc it. It almost as if they havent ever played anything else and SOD is there first game they have ever worked on.

i know you guys think shaman are chuck norris but its hard to take anyone seriously who cant beat 1 person with 4 other people helping them.

i know for a fact that ele arent doing that unless the opponents are absolute morons who should just not play video games ever.

are you guys doing the karate movie style where 1 runs in and gets owned and the rest go in 1v1 the entire time?

if being able to cast on target dummies is the bar here and they dont fight back, i think i could beat the crap out of about 20 people at a time on almost any class.

I’m actually convinced no one on the dev team plays Shaman. I can fix shaman in PvP with 2 rune swaps.

Put the earth shield rune on helm swap it with the tides healing rune.

Put riptide on gloves and mana shield on bracers so ele and enh both can’t have earth shield plus riptide on top of MD or Burn, and lava lash or lava burst.

There now you have the same high damage class that has to sacrifice damage to heal a lot in PvP.

Ironically if these smug devs who want pain points instead of suggestions actually played the class people claimed they did, the answer to balance them in pvp would be so obvious.

There you go, free consulting you didn’t have to pay my usual rate for. And now you can add better damage to ele and they will just be a flimsier spec without the healing sustain they currently have to attain there high damage.

gutting their sustain while they are a mid range class with horrible long range capabilities and little to no defensives would just crap all over the class.

It sure would, and it sure wouldn’t matter because the only pvp is boss rush AV and the devs can’t hide behind the flimsy excuse of we can’t buff them in PvE or then they will be too strong in our dead jokes pvp where we can’t even make AV not a boss rush.

heh they already run into people naturally running 70+ fr as it is.

70+ fr as well as gutting their only real defensives (healing from earth shield and riptide) would leave them sitting ducks vs all melee and very vunerable to all range (like they are now if the range has half a brain) .

edit to add:

they already gutted enhance self healing to be almost non existent . they kinda suck now.

inb4 they do nothing to buff NPC health next phase and players are fighting the same HP Drek as P4 with BWL gear lmao

edit to add: come play retail where enhance has great self healing, and you can burrow like a lil diglet

They don’t even need to buff the npc health they could make a change where you can’t get into the boss unless you have X towers destroyed, which would organically force people to pvp on objectives in an objective based game mode

I feel like HP buff is the expected route they would take, and will drop the ball on even that. but yeah if people were forced to do objectives, that would be great

Another big turn off for me with retail is watching people run around with X million health.

I was just watching Pika and omg… his screen was lit up with so many skills animations. Retail pvp is just a cluster F.
