Ele shaman farseer volcanic surge (one shot build) arena vid

Hi everyone, all the ele pvp videos you see are people playing the normal version so I wanted to make a video trying out the one shot build in beta. In full conquest gear I’m sitting at 13% crit, 29% vers, 0% haste and 41% mastery.

Before you criticize me on playing crappy, I don’t have all my keybinds setup and I’m just trying it to see how the damage is. Yes, I’m not dropping different totems and all that, but my goal wasn’t to get wins, but instead see how strong it can be.

One thing I like about the changes is every 45 seconds, you can primordial wave lavaburst into an instant lavaburst with the updated natures swiftness to do some solid mini burst.

What I don’t like about the mini burst is your first ancestral from primordial wave only shoots 2 spells with the extra lvb from primordial wave not effecting it and the 2nd ancestral doesn’t cast a spell because when it gets summoned it just moves to the side instead of casting.

My overall opinion is hp is pretty high compared to the damage we do with a single solo shuffle lasting 20 minutes. Perhaps with a coordinated partner the one shot build could work, but as of now it’s not enough to bring someone down. After a couple seasons where we can get higher stats like say 30% crit and 70-80% mastery it could be back to it’s former glory.

Is the combo something like this:

1 frost shock (for flux melting)
2 cast stormkeeper
3 prim wave (summons ancestor, drops sky fury)
4 Ancestral swiftness lava burst
5 Ascendance
6 Spend stormkeeper bolts

3 primordial wave (and forgot to say how much I like not having to drop sky fury any more)
4 lava burst with the immune to interrupt

Though 7 and 8 can be lb for both of them, at least in live version it can be enough to kill someone.

I did some beta testing as well, honestly with HP pools as high as they are, and self-healing being bonkers strong, nothing is going to die outside of deep dampening. Even coordinated setup teams will struggle to kill anything.

Let’s hope tuning speeds things up a bit, right now it’s BFA snoozefest levels of slow.

As for ele specifically, unless the game speed gets hyper fast, or at least equivalent to DF current pace, I don’t see any ascendance LvB “gib” builds working.

Ele looks to be the same from a PvP mechanics standpoint. Sustained builds reign supreme, min/maxing dmg, with a hefty dose of disruption to overwhelm healers (if game speed increases) or force the game into deep dampening (if pace holds).

Yeah, I think the only way the one shot build would work is if they go back to crits doing full dmg. On pvp target dummy, lvb can hit upwards of 1.6 mil. In arena my max was like 800k.

What sucks is in tww, damage is like 2.5x current dmg but health is like 4.5x higher than live.

It sucks because I actually think time to kill in DF is excellent. But in PvE they are having issues with mob burst damage being the only thing that’s threatening and healing is too strong.

Time for some PvP tuning to keep it similar to DF.
